Braun Series 7: 7865CC Foil Shaver

worked good for 2 days then it broke i returned it to manufacturer.

Having used a top end rotary shaver for years I was skeptical over switching to a foil as I did use a foil many years ago... but it was a lower end brand and the result were not great. Having researched higher end razors, I discovered the Braun series 7 was one of the best and finding it for sale made my choice easy. If you read this far, I save you some time...just buy it! This razor feels solid in my hand and shaves as closed as a blade. They recommend to shave before you shower (dry skin) for best results, but I found it shaved closer after my shower. It's powerful and shaves very close, even under the chin. The cleaning units works very well and it nice to shave each morning with a fresh out of the box feeling razor. There are cheaper razors out their, but I'd argue there are none better.

This shaver more than exceeded my expectations. I have tried many razors and shavers over the past 25 years. This one is a keeper! I could shave twice a day. My facial hair is very rough and this shaver cuts right through with no irritation. The self cleaning option is awesome also. I can see it being expensive in the long run. I will be looking to figure out a possible cheaper alternative.

It was a present for my birthday, I use to shave 1.5 years once a week, but one month ago abnormal noise became and sometimes shaver stops working. Indicators of battery and hygiene are OK. main cut doesn't work. I am very disappointed!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Braun Series 7 790cc shaver for free from Braun, so I decided to use it for a couple of weeks instead of my current shaving system. Out of the box, the first thing I noticed was that the plug on the charging dock was a two pin plug, which was slightly inconvenient because I do not have a two pin socket and therefore I had to buy the plug adapter in order to use it. The dock itself looks great, and the shaver sits easily into the holder and charges quickly with a push of a button. Under the dock, there is a section to insert the cleaning fluid (which was a bit of a pain when trying to open the fluid, but it was easy enough to slide in). I was really impressed with the lightweight design of the shaver itself, and how easy it was to hold. Operating the shaver with the one button activation made it easy to turn on and off when shaving, and the foil head was gliding easily over my skin and contours of the face without causing any irritation. The shave itself was very close, though I found it struggled with some areas on the neck and under the jaw line, even after going over them a many times. Also, I found it quite difficult to use on the mustache area above the lip, and therefore i struggled to achieve a close enough shave there, which was quite disappointing as this an area I like to have achieve a close shave. Also, the shaver has a pop up trimmer built into the unit, but that itself really didn't seem to do much so I found that quite useless, even though it was located in a convenient place right above the main button. Overall, I would recommend this shaver to others as I was very impressed with its design, the ease of use, and how it felt against the skin. But I would only give it 9 out of 10 because it did not give me a 100% clean shave as I expected, and I would continue using it a few times a week, but it wouldn't replace my current shaving system.
