I was in Canadian Tire looking for Bear or Dog spray. Thought I had looked everywhere, could not see it. I went to Automotive Department desk and asked where it was. The fellow at the counter came over and walked me to the aisle and then to the products.

Will not walk anywhere without one of these in my pocket! Only had to use it once but will not hesitate to use it on anything or anyone if threatened again. Spray first then call 911 in that order!

A: You may carry and use dog repellent for use against dog attacks if it is reasonable to do so. It is illegal to use on humans. Please contact your city to make sure this applies to the area in which you live.

A: : Yes, you are able to carry this unit but it is only legal to use on dog’s, coyotes, etc in a situation where you are being attacked by a dog, coyote, etc and is not legal to be used on another human being or another person.

Q: Is this size effective against strongly habituated coyotes? We live on a ravine street which has had many coyote attacks from coyotes with little to no fear of humans. Is this size effective against strongly habituated coyotes, either for protection or deterrent?

A: Hello Anne. The Health Canada Pest Management Regulatory Agency ( PMRA ) has approved the SABRE Dog Deterrent for use on coyotes. Yes, it could be used as a deterrent on coyotes.
