Worked well

Was going to buy Watco but a reviewer of that product suggested this was better. Worked fine, but I was only doing quarter round, so how it works on furniture remains to be seen. I’m planning on restoring some end tables with it.

Q: Wipe-On Polyurethane: Can it be used on a pre finished with spray on poly urethane wood cabinets ?

A: Sand existing finish lightly with 320grit sandpaper then apply wipe-on and wipe off. Use 0000 steel wool as applicator for additional coats.

A: Label on can recommends for interior use, not recommended for wood floors. No claim of UV resistance needed for outdoor use.

Q: Can I use this on top of chalked paint? Looking for a product to finish a painted nightstand.

A: Hello. Wipe-On Poly is not recommended for use on any type of paint. We don't offer a product that is guaranteed to be compatible over chalky paint. Regards, Minwax Customer Support

A: Hello. The paint would first need to be fully cured for 30 days and sanded with 220 for adhesion purposes. Please keep in mind that our oil-based finishes most likely will amber or yellow the paint. Regards, Minwax Customer Service
