this is junk, don't be so cheap and buy this junk. yes the warranty is good. buy something worth the money

Never fully charged the battery and then after a couple months stopped charging at all. Not sure what the issue with the controller is because it gives little feedback, just flashing yellow light.

I bought this a month ago for the 12v battery on my trailer. I found the controller would keep going off-line as reported in the other reviews, unfortunately I neglected to read them prior to my purchase. I bought a separate controller online, a different brand, which I'm happy with. I didnt want the hassle of returning everything, but I won't be buying another Noma product. Obviously by all the reports, there is a quality control problem, which the manufacturer should address and Canadian tire should explore.

I suggest that most of you who are having low esteem of this panel because of the charge controller is that you are not following proper connection sequences. After looking over the NOMA instructions I can say that this is a problem that NOMA should take of because it simply does not specify how to properly hook up the system. First of all a 50 amp panel should always be used with a charge controller because the voltage directly from the panel ( 21.85 V )is much higher than what a 12 volt battery can handle. If you plug the solar panel into the controller first , this will send 21.85 volts to the controller and possible damage can occur. Always plug the battery to the controller first and this will send 12V (+or-) to get the unit comfortable with the task of charging ...then....plug in the solar panel.Do the opposite when taking the system apart. Unplug panel first then the battery. NOMA should warn us about this with a big red sticker in back of the panel, so, shame on them. For those who complain about adding extra long cables remember that the best set-up is to have the battery as close to the panel as possible. Adding cables just reduces the amount of juice that the battery will receive proportionately to the length and size of cable added. Then there are those who mentioned winter use.Electricity moves better in cold weather and fully charged batteries do not freeze( except under certain extreme conditions ) A final note: the Tested for Canada videos should be checked by an expert or made with products that have more usage than a simple un-boxing .This is Canada after all and we would all expect something of quality would work out of the box but give it a year or two when the warranty runs out. )

Both systems I recently purchased stopped working when it got cold. This in turn destroyed two storage batteries. I see many other have the same issue.
