(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I own 5 of these batteries, very good for my purposes. Run 17 in lawn mower, 16 in weed wacker and small snow blower. They meet my expectations.

didnt last more than 2 years, the battery was stored inside with warmth, when i tried to charge first time this year for use in my lawn mover wont hold a charge , or indicator lights not working, i had 2 batterys, have same thing,, maybe 2 years old

A lithium-ion battery lifespan is determined by the charging and discharging cycles and is dependent on many different variables such as: storage, temperature, charge, and handling. A “normally” used battery can last over 1000 cycles. A cycle means that the battery goes from fully charged to empty and then fully charged again. A battery is considered a consumable and over time may lose the ability to store the same amount of energy as it did at the beginning of its life cycle. In optimal conditions 40V lithium-ion batteries typically have a lifespan of up to 2,000 charging and discharging cycles (1,000 with a rapid charger). Greenworks 40V batteries are backed by a 3-year manufactures warranty. We recommend contacting our customer support team for assistance with properly submitting a warranty claim. Batterie compatible Yardworks

J’avais vu à quelque part que les batteries de marque Yardworks 40v 4Ah peuvent remplacer les Greenworks. J’ai été sur place et j’ai apporté ma batterie Greenworks. Effectivement c’est vrai. Et ça fonctionne très bien. J’avais acheté il y a 4-5 ans une batterie Yardworks chez Canadian Tire, dont le prix est plus abordable. En date de février 2025 les batteries Yardworks sont à 80$ donc j’en ai acheté une autre en réserve. Ma tondeuse Greenworks a plus de 10 ans et fonctionne encore très bien. J’ai changé les lames, avec une marque compatible reconnue disponible chez Canadian Tire. J’ai le coupe-bordure Greenworks et la batterie d’origine fonctionne encore. J’ai la petite scie à chaîne à fil électrique avec manche allongé, je coupe les branches, c’est surprenant comment ça fonctionne bien.
Achetons local si nous voulons garder les emplois chez nous. On peut aussi acheter sur le site web Canadian Tire et ramasser gratuitement au magasin de notre choix.

Very Poor Battery Performance

Bought this battery as a backup for original that came with our mower so we could cut entire lawn without waiting for recharge.
The battery charges just fine, indicates it is charged, but when installed into mower there’s no life. Original battery still charges and works just fine. Replacement battery performance is non existent. Zero value considering the cost of this backup battery. This is a recurring theme in these reviews. Makes me wonder…

R : Sorry but I do not work at Canadian Tire and cannot answer about battery compatibility as requested. It was the one for my lawn mower that was replaced. CTC could not supply the battery for my grass trimmer since it was discontinued so I bought a new trimmer elsewhere. and this one has compatible battery for all lawn tools of that brand..

R : I have a greenworks lawnmower with a 40v 4ah battery and charger. After reading the reviews I discovered the yardworks 40v 4ah battery is compatible with my greenworks lawnmower and charger (apparently when you purchase the products from Cdn Tire). In any case, they are compatible. The yardworks battery was also $60 less expensive than a new greenworks battery. The yardworks battery also seems to have a longer charge, although that could be simply because it's a new battery. Works great!

The overall battery life is dependent on many factors such as where they have been stored, charged, and handled. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. The color of the LED should change from steady orange (reconditioning) to steady red (rapid charge) and your battery will begin to charge. Even though your battery is fully charged, it could be nearing its end of life. Batteries have an average lifecycle of 2-3 years or up to 2000 life cycles. It is recommended to store the battery with a full charge, and if it is being stored for a period where no use is expected, to check on the charge every couple of months. If you notice the charge has dropped, we advise charging the battery back up to full before returning it to its safe storage place. If the issue persist, we would be interested in hearing more about the challenges you are experiencing.
