NordicTrack E9.5i - Vélo elliptique adapté à la technologie iFit

Stay Away!! A good sale at Canadian Tire persuaded us to make the jump into buying one of these machines instead of our usual gym membership. In hindsight, the sale price should have been seen as the frst red flag about this product. When it was new, it was great. Made 5-7k per day, easily, although the fan was a bit off-center. Oh well. -By the end of the first week, the plastic under the foot pads started flaking off onto the rails(?!?), halting the smooth operation of the machine. Service call (warranty). We replaced 2 belts. Fair enough, we were using it, but the things ground themselves down into a ropey powder like black copier toner, and seemed to be rubbing against another component from the very start. -At the end of week 9, the stride started becoming bumpy, and a constant squealing from the machine began which survived at least 2 service calls. Over a period of a few months, THREE key metal bearings (part 56) just disintegrated for no reason. The third was also a warranty replacement. -The electrical system LEDs displayed irregular brightness at times. (Shrug on that one) -Around the time that the second bearing was replaced, the Eddy Mechanism (part 28) failed. (Warranty, but 6-week wait.) About 2 weeks after the last warranty expired, part (4), the Upright and big metal shaft central to the top of the machine just... cracked. No reason for it. You should be able to hang a Toyota from this, by the look of it. It's (apparently not) solid steel, and weighs ~35 lbs. Special thanks to iFit for kindly replying to my letter by underlining "_THIS_IS_NOT_PART_OF_THE_FRAME_" in their response, because the underline itself just wasn't clear enough in their snotty reply. (Cash out of pocket for the part and labour, 10 weeks later). Final straw: After continuing to clunk along, Part #1, which I can assure NordicTrack and iFit, is definitely _PART OF THE FRAME_, has also, inexplicably, cracked in two, despite the thing not even being a moving part on the machine. Fortunately, this piece is under lifetime warranty, although replacement will require complete de-construction of the machine, assuming the part ever arrives, and the labour doesn't cost a fortune. I'm going back to a gym membership - no machine is worth this much hassle, and the multiple waits for parts wrecked my routine anyway.

Machine itself is great! Quiet and smooth movement. However - I’m having problems reaching customer service for a replacement part. One of the cosmetic plastic - left leg outer cover - arrived cracked. Trying now for the third time in 2 weeks. No response to date.

Overall not a bad machine, but make lots of noises, and creaks quite a bit. Worst part, is the upright weld broke…… now I have to wait 6 weeks to get a new one, and I have to pay for it.

Bought this elliptical two years ago from Canadian Tire. It seized up suddenly and without warning, hurting my leg/knee in the process. No warranty service was provided by the manufacturer and no-one was available during multiple attempts to reach them. Went in the garbage.

I strongly warn anyone away from this elliptical - mine broke within a short period of time.
