Absolutely horrible product

I bought this for my kayaks intrepid and maxim 100x. The grooves on both kayaks are not deep enough to hold the cover down, the bungee cords are too wide on the skirt. After a yeah the fabric that hold the bungee is now tearing. Do not buy this product

It's horrible, I can't even get the thing to stay on to go anywhere. I just bought the Pelican 100 so I could do some Eskimo rolls. But that's not gonna happen with this skirt. Taking it back for sure!! Do Not Buy This.

I bought this for my 10' Pursuit - it is very much worthwhile. It's not a whitewater neoprene bulletproof skirt, but it will prevent a lap full of cold river water unless you go really wild in rapids or big waves. In about 1 1/2 hrs on the river, I stayed dry until I decided to take on some BIG waves, then the water piled up on the skirt, and just soaked through the nylon ... still fun !! If I had taken the time to sort of peak the waist band better, the water may have rolled off. Some complain about the fit. You must be doing something wrong, my wife and I had no such problem. You might want to try a paddler's wax if it just won't work for you, just smear it outside the cockpit, and it gives grip. For flatwater or "normal" river use, it's great. 4 stars just because I got wet, but really, it does what it is supposed to.

Don't waste your money

I bought this spray skirt to go on my Pelican Pursuit 100 10' kayak. The skirt would not fit properly on the boat and then kept slipping off when I finally did get it on. The waist would not adjust tight enough either, allowing water to get in. After a short paddle with this spray skirt on a lake that was only very mildly windy, I was very wet.

Q : How do you keep the spray skirt attached to the kayak? I bought the pursuit angler that comes with a spray skirt. I can't get it to stay on. Even when test fitting it on shore, it pops off usually at about 5 or 7 (clock). Has anyone a trick to get the skirt on and to keep it on?

  • R : Pelican has been putting the wrong spray skirts in the pursuit 10' and 12' kayaks. I emailed them yesterday about this and hope they will do something about it. The skirts that come with the pursuit 100 angler and the 120 angler are the cheaper, smaller skirts for the 8' kayaks. If you go to they're website and look in the accessories section you can clearly see the difference. If you're determined to get it to work, some people put a thick bead of silicone around the combing for extra grip. Snaps or velcro also work but keep safety in mind.
