Installed the security bar as per instructions. I went to turn the key to the lock position, the entire lock hinge broke off. No way can this offer any type of security. Mr. Goodbar is a much better product.

Purchased this product on sale and installed next day. Upon completion of installation I tugged on the bar fairly gently and the latch on the lock came off, releasing the bars completely.
After examining the lock, I discovered there is a design flaw that allows it to come apart easily. Had to go to my workshop and modify the locking mechanism to prevent it from falling apart.
I also decided to reinforce the whole installation by drilling a hole in the side and putting a screw in each end to hold the metal pieces together.
I would recommend going with other brand like Mr. Goodbar if you prefer a secure product.

Great Product

Not only do these look nice, but they're very durable. Being a landlord in a somewhat rougher neighbourhood, these are highly sought after to renters along with tasteful window decoration.
Nothing beats peace of mind, and these definitely offer this. For those people buying many, do not forget that you can have the locks matched by a locksmith, so that your fellow tenants/family have an escape route in case of a fire.

Enhanced Window Security

These window bars are easy to install, well made and more attractive than other makes on the market. They can be painted if desired. In addition, they can be removed and reinstalled in seconds using the key locks so you can put them in and take them out as need be.
