WHY IS THERE EVEN A LISTING FOR THIS?

Don't get stuck with one as many others did when 2G was removed from most carriers and this unit can only work with 2G and the company refused to upgrade existing owners and or provided some sort of incentive to get a 3G unit. Icing on the cake is that trackimo canada is insolvent as per their filing June 29/2016 http://www.insolvencies.deloitte.ca/en-ca/Pages/trackimoinc.aspx? and therefore is not providing tracking and this item is now useless. CT doesn't appear to have any of these in stock. If they do they should promptly remove them so that they don't sell a product that doesn't work as advertised.

2G only will not work in most places

This trackimo is 2G only and will not work in most places as 2G network are being shut down. Trackimo is not willing to trade up to the the 3G version either. It is now completely useless.

GPS Tracker

There is no better feeling than to be able to know where your spouse is at any given time. This device allows me to do that. My lawyer says it can be a real cash cow.

Dont waste your money

I have had 4 of these devices, one was faulty at purchase but took 4 weeks to get replaced and that was before trackimo canada when bust! one of the other 3 devices is now faulty and I have been in email contact with Trackimo for 5 weeks and they still wont fix it.
When they work they are OK although the reliability is hit and mis (I have days when I just can't trust them.)
It might look like a cost effective solution but don't waste you money or you will probably regret it, I know I do!

Did Not Find It Reliable or Accurate

I purchased this unit about a month ago. The website is user friendly. The unit is easy to set up but there are some issues.
The battery lasts for approx 72 hours but if it runs down to 20 percent or less, then you cannot get an updated location from it VIA the internet application. The other thing I don't like about this device is that you have to request location updates from the website in order to get an updated location. Clicking on Refresh all the time is a pain. The history feature that tells you where the the device has been is simply a line drawn on a google map. There are no addresses that are easily displayed in the internet application. You have to click on the dots on the map in order to see the address, but the location accuracy is not always accurate. A bit frustrating for someone who likes details and accuracy. Frequently, it does not update the location properly and gives a different location than where the device is actually located. It was inside my house yet it told me that it was 1.5 KM away. The manufacturer claims that the location is accurate because it is based on satellite. I have yet to see this presented on the map on a "consistent" basis and with accurate locations. Only sometimes do you get an accurate location. It seems to depend on where the device is and which tower it hits. If you want a basic tracker, this is ok. But if you are looking for more detailed information such as addresses, dates, longer battery life etc., then I do not recommend this product.

R : I can answer my own question as I couldn't wait for the answer and still buy on sale. Yes...it does have earth view option (hybrid meaning earth view AND street names). Seems default is map view and you have to toggle view each time you log in to Trackimo.

R : It is $60US. In the eleventh month of service, customer's will will be notified that their year is almost up and then be prompted to renew. It is all done online directly with the device owner.

Q : Geo-fencing locations It states that it lets you know when it exits or enters set geo-fencing locations; are they entered or predetermined, or exactly how does that work?

R : On the top left of the map screen there is an icon that looks like a small square. Click on that icon and it opens up the Geo Fence option. A geo fence can be created, sized, and named then saved. It will then give notices if that option was checked off on the dashboard.

R : If you use the Trackimo Vehicle Hardwire Kit, product 0350144 (sold separately), the device can be permanently mounted and powered by the vehicle battery. The Trackimo GPS Tracker can last up to 2-5 days without charge. You can also recharge by using the USB cable included. “Active” use is when the tracker is mounted on an object that is on the move.

R : Canadian Tire does not sell replacement or extra batteries by itself for this product. Although, our Trackimo Vehicle Hardwire Kit Product #0350144 does include an extra battery and is sold in all of our stores.
