When you purchase air-conditioners it would be great if stores could give you the option to hear it running - as I have owned air conditioners that are really noisy. But this unit isn't all that noisy - we placed it in our back bedroom and keep it running in the evening before bedtime.

Q : What is the heating BTU? I don't think it covers the same sq ft area for heating and cooling even tho it is 8000BTU, can you confirm that the heating BTU and area coverage is the same as cooling? Mine does not seem to blow sufficient heat to cover a 350sq ft room in Alberta winter

R : Canadian TIre's Answer is wrong. the desciption of the product clearly states that its a heater as well and covers room over 350sq ft. I use the product as well. There is a heater function.

Q : Do I need to buy a sleeve for my new thru the wall A/C unit? I now have a unit that was installed 20 years ago. I just bought the Garrison 8000 BTU through the wall unit. Do I need to purchase a sleeve? Is there always a sleeve? If so, would the sleeve that is already there be ok?

Q : Not cooling at all? I got this AC yesterday and it doesn't cool at all, and I don't think the fan in turning on! It turns on for maybe a minute, and I watch the display say go from 98 F to 78 F in less than 1 minute then it shuts off. Anyone else have this problem?
