I bought this set on a too good to pass up sale and I must say that I am happy with it. I havent used the little mini glue gun very much so I dont have much to say about that item, but the full size glue gun works great. It heats up fast enough and melts the glue easily. It doesnt seem to clog very easily and I love that everything fits into its own case for easy storage. The included glue is great so you can get started right away. Would recommend.

We were in the market for a bigger glue this fall for carpentry projects. This set was on sale, so we snapped it up. We returned the first one because the little glue gun didn't heat up at all. CT exchanged it without fuss, and we had no problems with the new set for the first few months. We liked the fact that it came with it's own case for tidy storage. The Big Gun We used the large gun for melting larger glue sticks and used it for wood working projects. It worked well for several projects (e.g., temporarily holding hinges in place while you predrill the holes). It has all the problems associated with glue guns: 1. They constantly drip while a glue stick is inside and the heat is on. 2. Despite the fold-down stand, the pwoer cord makes the prone to tip. They would benefit from a stand. 3. The power cord is too short. 4. It was slow to heat up (five minutes). 5. The trigger doesn't move smoothly, so you have poor control of glue application when working on detailed work. But the really bad thing was that it gave out after a few months. After further researching other glue guns (including fancy ones), we learned that it's not uncommon to find glue guns have a short life expectancy in the shop. The Little Gun We had to exchange the kit because the little glue gun that came with the first set didn't work. The replacement has worked fine. It has the same problems as any mini glue gun: doesn't get really hot, prone to tipping, hard to clean if it clogs. It's not a great product, but it continues to work. The Glue Sticks They melted well and did a good job for light duty gluing. The bond was quite good on cloth to wood or cardboard to wood, not quite so good on sticking wood together. We found it clogged the guns less than the cheap stuff we bought at the dollar store. Overall The guns that came with this set did the job, but didn't last long enough to satisfy us. I'd recommend take a pass on this kit. The kit isn't expensive, but you can save yourself some grief by spending more on another brand like Dremel (yes, Dremel makes glue guns). If you plan to use a glue gun on rare occasions, look around at the JobMate ones. They've reviewed well, and they're inexpensive.
