Great little compressor

Bought it many years ago & used it many times for aluminium rims in the winter on previous vehicles (my latest SUV came with a loud compressor beside the uninflated spare & also came with green stem caps). Now I use it to refill my refillable spray (paint) cans. No issues otherthan the plastic cover for the gauge fell off from rattling around in a trunk. Hopefully the newer version is as good when I eventually will need another.

OK compressor, quality is average

Used this for 7 years and it worked all very well until two issues arose:
1. the nozzle which has a raised bump (for pushing in tire valve ) broken off, thus you can no longer inflate your vehicle tires.
2. the 12V plug is becoming loose enough that it no longer maintain a proper connection
I retired this for another compressor, but for 7 years of regular usage, I will still rate this with 3 stars, though I was expecting it to last over 10 years.

Complete garbage!!

Bought 3 and all lasted less less than 2 years and used less than 10 times. Waste of money. DON'T BUY!!

EASY FIX

Ive had this unit for a couple of years and used it about five times. It's been coiled up under the back seat. Today it wouldn't make pressure and I noticed it had a crack in the rubber hose back at the crimped connection on the pump. I cut away the crimped part and cut the line back about 1/2'' and secured it with a 3/8" hose clamp. Good as new!

Très peu utilisé. Malgré cela, le tube gonfleur s’est coupé à sa sortie du compresseur.

R : No, you can not a desired pressure. What you can do though is keep an eye on the pressure gauge and turn the machine off when the desired pressure is reached.

Q : How do I avoid excessive bleeding of air when unscrewing the connector? Because the connector is not a quick release type, when I unscrew the the connector from the nipple, I find myself clumsily bleeding more air out than usual. Any recommendation on how I can avoid that, other than unscrewing as quick as possible?

R : Push the hose against the valve and hold it there whilst you unscrew the retaining nut , pull the hose away and the valve core will retain the pressure .

R : Since even hi pressure tires max out below 100psi, this would be almost 50 times greater pressure. "Long wait time" would be a joke, "never" would be more accurate. The unit body itself would probably explode if exposed to 50 times its rated working pressure, if not for the hoses and connectors blowing first. Oddly, the answer is yes, it would be able to fill a 4500psi paintball tank, but only to maybe 100psi.

R : Tankless compressor will not supply smooth airflow for airbrushing, even if the airflow volume is at desired cfm. Airpig with separate inlet and outlet might help.

Q : Where can I find a replace for this compressor? I have been searching The Source, NAPA, Lordco, none of them carry 15amp fuse in such small size. Even Canadian Tire does not carry it. It is just a piece of junk once the fuse is blown and you can't find a replacement for that.

R : Bypass the fuse (stick a small bolt, piece of copper tubing, etc. the same size as the fuse into the fuseholder), and wire a proper fuseholder in the positive side of the power cable. Should be a piece of cake for anyone who can solder and shrink wrap the connections. Don't just bypass the fuse and call it quits. You may be calling your vehicle quits when you smoke the wiring harness!
