Système 3M d'élimination des rayures

I discovered a series of small scratches in the clear coat on my car. This is a leased vehicle, and they told me they would ding me $180 to repair them upon return of the car. I decided to pick up one of these kits at Canadian Tire and try my luck fixing it myself. I followed the directions closely. Step 1 was sanding, they provide 3000 grit sandpaper, and you're to sand for about 10 seconds at a time, clean the area, check if the scratch is gone (i.e, if you've worn away enough of the clear coat), apply water to the sandpaper, and continue if needed. This took about 45 minutes but I was being cautious. The scratches were pretty much gone. At this point, the area in question will look AWFUL on your car, you'll see a cloudy haze in the area you've been sanding - no worries, this is normal! Step 2 was to buff - I attached the buffing pad to my cordless drill, as directed, and had at it. Took maybe 3-4 minutes, I took it slow and applied compound as needed. Again, the car didn't look great - this is still normal! Step 3 was to polish - I attached the polishing pad to my drill. Took 5-6 minutes, I did several brief polishes. When done, the fender looked awesome, the scratches were 90% gone (I could only see the remnants of the two deepest ones because I knew to look for them). The paint looked like new. I would highly recommend this kit to anyone who has never done this process before. Worked brilliantly! Just follow the directions, and don't worry about how it looks until step 3 is done!

Great finish with microfibre. Needed to clean off birdpoo etching - used the last 2 steps of 3M Scratch Removal System (manually, no drill) and finished off with Meguiar's Quik Detailer and Mother's Cleaner Wax Paste. Can't see the etching anymore.

Some jerk scratched up my drivers side door in a parking lot and then left with no note. I was so mad and shops were going to charge me hundreds to fix the paint. This product removed about 80% of the damage in 20 minutes. It's not a miracle by any means but it fixed enough of the paint damage that i didn't bother getting it fixed by a pro and it looks pretty good.
