I am disappointed that you can't sit on the unit because it isn't structurally sound enough. The centre sinks in even with the weight of a child. I wish I had realized that as we were trying to use it for extra seating also. Additionally, the inside of the unit has a funky chemical smell we have never been able to get rid of. We wanted to use it to keep blankets and odds-and-ends inside. But everything takes on that unpleasant smell. We left the unit outside for days to see if the smell would go away but it never did. So we have never been able to use it for storage. It looks nice and is comfortable to rest our feet on, but that's about it. It is not worth the money in my opinion.

Wasn't expecting much, but still disappointed

I bought this at Canadian Tire in a flyer sale. I wasn't expecting the world, but one side was bowing outward and not supporting the lid. Sure enough, the first time my wife put her feet up, the fibre board making up the lid structure cracked clean in half and pierced out of the faux leather covering. It looks nice, but it's absolute garbage inside. Wish I kept the receipt.

R : No, bonded leather is a VINYL product. There has to be a slight % of leather in it but these are the scraps.

R : I don't think it comes with a tray. Mine didn't. It is not shown with a tray. It is a storage box with a removable lid. You could put your own tray I guess.

Q : Is it safe for an adult (or 2) to stand on this? I would like to use this for storing towels beside my indoor hot tub and use it as a step (standing on the top) to get into the hot tub. Might be 1-2 persons standing on it at a time.

R : No. I wouldn't recommend this product for that purpose for numerous reasons. The lid is not securely attached to the base. It is made of bonded leather and would likely be damaged in a hot tub environment. Better to just buy proper steps/towel storage.
