Bought last week. First thing the control box blew up. Best way I can describe it. Smoke everywhere. CDN Tire does not sell control boxes separately so they opened a new kit (pump and box) and replaced our box. Got the electrician to install it and nothing. not a sound. We pulled the pump. AGAIN. Did the old put the pump in a barrel of water and test it. The water drained out of the pump. Bad foot valve. Anyone that has ever done this will relate. Pulling a pump is hard work. Doing it more than once just because the pump is no good is just maddening.

R : PSI depends on - feet of head (the further you are away from the discharge of the pump the lower the PSI and GPH) per the chart below: - diameter of the pipe used - cut on/out of the pressure switch Please see attached chart.

Q : What is the recommended (Amp) braker switch to use for this Pump?. 0-62-3540-8 Sub DW PMP with CTRL box. the sticker in the motor has 4 AMPS to a Maximun of 5.7 AMPS. I was told to use a 10 AMP Switch braker for this Pump. is this braker the right one?

R : Assuming we are talking about a well close to the surface with the depth of 10’ or less is not recommended for a couple of reasons: 1. The entire pump must be submerged all the time. To do this, it has to be placed 1’ above the bottom of the well to minimize the probability of it coming out of the water. When installing the pump so close to the bottom there is a high risk of sucking in debris which is a problem for the pump and quality of water you will get at the surface. 2. Remember, the depth below the pump is 1’, the length of the pump is 3’ so that only leaves 6’ of water above the pump which is not much at all. Since we cannot guarantee the speed of the well’s regeneration there is a possibility that the well may run dry and thus burn out the pump. We would suggest a customer use a shallow well jet pump as a better option for this scenario.

R : We did a running change on this SKU from Flotec to Mastercraft a while back, you may still find older stock in the stores. All SKUs under this product number be it Mastercraft or Flotec, should have a control box but we cannot specifically identify the control box used on the Flotec version.

R : It is a 230 volts 1/2HP, 10GPM 3-wire 4" submersible well pump. It is for 4" inside diameter or larger wells. Pumps from depths of 150ft Floating stack design for sand resistance and reduced sand locking Corrosion-resistant stainless steel pump and motor housing.
