Great Fishing Kayak!

Bought this 10 foot Kayak over the 12 foot model to transport to the lake and back on top of my car and I'm loving it!
The size of the kayak is pretty awesome and it seems to glide on the water nicely with the right paddles and has some awesome little features on it but there are some things not so great about it:
1. This is the older model and doesn't feature the Rigging tracks, 2 extra rod holders next to the seat and anti-slip mat for standing (New model not available on Canadian Tire site).
2. The storage compartment is not water proof and some water gets in it just from paddling
3. It's a bit awkward to transport even with two people; could just be the shape and placement of the handles
Other than these small issues which can kind of be fixed with a bit of modification, this Kayak is amazing! I just wish the new model, which is shown on the Pelican site, would of been available as the default model at Canadian Tire. If you do get it and you are by yourself, I recommend a kayak cart to transport it to the water.

A more comfortable catch!!

My second Pelican kayak purchased specifically with fishing in mind. Previous model had basic seat, moulded into kayak body with a simple pad.
As with other reviewers, I was somewhat disappointed at the differences between the kayak of the same name shown on the website (technically the "NXT" version, though not mentioned), that is in fact more money and only available in the US as far as I can tell. Despite this, I bought this kayak, added several Scotty accessories to it (considerably cheaper than the NXT option) and love it.
So comfortable for effortless use for hours.
The large, adjustable seat makes all the difference. Best value, lightest weight, most comfortable 10ft fishing rig available.

Not as it Appears

Beware; if you have watched the Pelican website or other reviews of the boat you will not get all of the features that they show such as, Basic carry handles not the ergonomic deluxe ones, Rubber foot pads are missing, Basic seat, not the one with lumbar support, 2 flush mounts rod holders, not 4 No equipment side tracks. Very disappointed, we will be returning our 2 kayaks.

Q : When will Canadian tire carry the newer version of this kayak. The one with the better seat, more rod holders and the non-slip pads on the deck. I’m pretty sure this one is the 2017 model but the 2018 has many more perks that I am looking for.

R : The kayak is not made to install a motor and there are no mounts that we could suggest to use. The weight capacity of the Catch 100 is 350 lbs., which you have to consider when making modifications. Furthermore can a modification on the hull (i.e. drilling holes etc.) void the warranty of the product.

R : This is a more advanced, heavier angler kayak. I would recommend 079-1263 Sentry Angler Kayak for a beginner. However, if you are looking for a recreational kayak, then I would recommend 079-8599 Magna.

Q : When will the 2018 Catch 100 be available through canadiantire this is the one that has more features than the previous model, it's the one i'm waiting for,need an answer for this as i don't want to be waiting for ever....
