Great to keep things cold for the day - but not longer. Friends of ours new to camping brought this as a cooler for the weekend instead of a hard sided cooler and were disappointed how quickly after a day everything melted. However, as a picnic carrier or for a day at the beach this works great and folds up nicely so will store away leaving lots of room for everything else.

Bought this to take on a trip to South Africa, where we'll be camping. Didn't want to have to worry about buying a standard cooler over there that we would then have to leave behind, so I was pleased to find this gem on the shelf. Pros: -Folds pretty flat - makes for easy storage when at home and can fit in a medium-to-large suitcase -Well-lined -Impressively big (it's essentially a foldable full-sized cooler) -Comes with a sturdy insert so that it keeps its shape -Insert is removable (handy when spreading weight around several bags) Cons: -Weighs in at just under 4kgs empty -Looks like the liner could have some durability issues - it's thick, but there's a small incision in the one I bought Got this on sale for $35, which makes it a great deal. Whether it comes on this trip with us or not (depends on how much weight allowance we have left), it's a keeper.

I have used this product for a few picnics so far and it works great! However, I don't use it to store hot and cold things. For that I use the Coleman stainless steel cooler and jug also available at CT (they are awesome and are 50% off this week!!#. I store everything else in this unit. It amazes me that I can buy thousands of coolers in every shape and size, however the picnic basket that Yogi Bear used to steal in 50s cartoons has not evolved one bit. My cooler can store drinks, nice Canadian beef AAA steaks, a bottle of white wine, a cheese selection as well as fresh vegetables and fruit. What about the bottle of red wine that needs to be served at room temperature, a bag of fresh bread rosettes, condiments well as plates,utensils ,tablecloths, etc? Get with it CT!! I am sure that you and your suppliers have smart designers that will create the picnic basket for the 21rst century. I'm thinking layered compartments so nothing gets squished. Forget the ones that include all utensils #they are fancy, expensive and hold very little. We will supply the utensils.#. Make it simple, functional #lots of pockets for various things# and perfectly sealed to keep out insects. Make them the size of this unit. Create a picnic basket that will even fool Yogi. #There.
