The parts that should be made of metal are made of plastic. The parts that could be made of plastic are made of metal. The oscillating mechanism is plastic and there is an arm connected to the spray bar. On this arm there are two nubs that are supposed to ride along an eccentric wheel that rotates causing the spray bar to rotate left and right. That plastic arm is far too weak and the little nubs are far too short. As the wheel rotates the outer most nub rides along the wheel till it just pops off the edge because there's far too much flex in the arm. If the arm had been made of metal or the nub had been twice as long... no problem. But there ya have it. No point in getting it replaced because you're going to be replacing them every year. So, they look great but they just don't perform, unless you want to water only one spot.

I bought this because of the adjustable width feature and Canadian tire life-time guarantee. However, I soon was unable to adjust the width, it was just stuck on the full-width pattern. However, I returned it and was given another. I suppose I could just keep returning them if they are all faulty.

There's something wrong with the setting dials for the oscillation function. After using it a few times, no matter where you set the dial, as the sprinkler moves the dial clicks along past its maximum setting and then gets stuck there. The result is you get one or two back and forth passes of the sprinkler and then it lowers as far as it can possibly go and stays there. We exchanged our first one and the second one we got did exactly the same thing. Also, if the ground isn't perfectly flat and the hose is at a slight angle then it puts pressure on the tube inside the sprinkler where the water runs. Everything in there is plastic (The "metal" in the name of the sprinkler refers only to the frame all the plastic junk sits in.) and you end up with major leaking and a giant puddle under the sprinkler. Both sprinklers we had did this as well. The problem the other reviewer had with the nozzles too close together only occurs when the sprinkler is on its narrow setting. The width is adjusted by bending the tube that the water sprays out of - so it's not that the nozzles on the edge are too close together, just that, at its narrow setting, they're angled to that they spray closer together than the inner ones. At wider settings, that's not an issue and we found spray coverage to be quite even... but the thing's still garbage.

You will get lines of water in the area rather than even coverage. - it is supposed to be a premium product, but it can't be used on new grass seed without constant moving so it doesn't flood the area.
