Great Product

Just got this item to read a code on a Volvo XC70 as the transmission was saying it needed service hooked it up and it told me the code and what the problem is and found it very easy to use for a first timer like me.The fact that is was on sale made me go with this unit instead of something a little cheaper and glad I did.

I bought, tried, and exchanged/returned two of these. Pay close attention to the LCD screen if you buy one. The first unit I tried froze up and both LCDs malfunctioned. The second one had stuck or inoperable pixels. That makes me concerned about quality and whether it'll last more than a year.
On the plus, it is intuitive to use and allows you to research codes "off-line," which is handy. It wouldn't do any of the system tests it advertises on my 2012 Sonata.
I don't think this product would stand up to even occasional use over the longer term.

Emissions test

I took my van for E-test and it failed so I bought this unit and it said evap test was incomplete. My van would not complete the test until I had put over half a tank of gas in it then this tool told me when the test completed and when I took it for E-test it passed. Thanks, great tool helped me a lot.

R : As all vehicles manufactured after 1996 would work with scan tools made for OBDII compliant as the VECI label likely located on the radiator support would show the vehicle is OBDII compliant as the serpentine belt routing label would likely be nearby.

R : This unit is only appropriate for OBD2 vehicles (i.e. vehicles older or equal to 1996). However, 025-1009 has capacity to handle OBD1 & OBD2 vehicles, which would include your Mercury.

R : La formation n'est pas nécessaire pour utiliser la tablette OBD2 de la technologie de lancement. L'outil est convivial avec un double écran pour afficher les moniteurs de préparation, les codes d'erreur et les données graphiques en temps réel. L'outil comporte également des définitions de code intégrées.

R : The OBD Book is for codes and data on All ‘96 & Newer Domestic & Import Cars, SUV’s & Light Trucks (Communicates With All OBDII Protocols /CAN Compliant) The 2010 Isuzu NRR has a GVWR * rating of 19,500 lb and is considered heavy duty. There is different protocol for heavy duty vehicle so the OBD Book won’t work. We would suggest using Launch CR-HD code reader. It is a code reader specially for heavy duty trucks over 10,000lbs.

R : Launch OBD BOOK only provides generic OBDII codes and live data which are emission related. Unfortunately IPR valve( injection pressure regulator valve) and icp sensor ( injection control pressure sensor) are manufacturer specific info hence like most code readers in the market OBDBOOK will not be able to read live data on IPR valve and icp sensor. Launch has a another product called CRP123 ( MSRP$ 299, currently selling thru NAPA, MATCO, MAC TOOLS etc). It has access to both generic code and manufacturer specific codes on powertrain, body, transmission and airbag.
