Sturdy construction and easy to assemble. Only negative is the cast iron grills are too porous and trap a lot of food particles. My last BBQ had ceramic coated grilles that were still clean at 10 years old

Q : There is almost a quarter inch gap between the end of the grill and the back of the bbq frame - the grills seem too short for the area they sit on. Cleaning results in them bouncing back and forth. Is this expected?

R : We purchased the same grill about 4 weeks ago. Our grills don’t shift when cleaning, stuck on food comes off easily if you season the grates per the instructions and also use a little oil prior to grilling. We use a spray on olive oil. To clean we do use a grill pad similar to an SOS pad but not as abbrasive and minus the soap.

R : Thank you for your inquiry. That is an interesting question. There are a couple things to note: #1. This BBQ is discontinued so it isn't currently available for purchase. #2. It is important to note that Canadian Tire does not ship to France, so getting the grill there would be 100% up to whether or not you would like to pay to ship the grill at your own cost. #3. Unfortunately we don't have the information for France fire standards/regulations, so you would need to check the local laws/regulations of where in France you intend to ship the grill. However, we can provide you with the propane tank specifications for this grill and you can see if they match with the French laws/regulations. Propane Regulator Information: LP cylinder requirements: • 12”(30.5cm) diameter x 18” (45.7 cm) tall with 20 lb (9 kg) capacity maximum. LP cylinder valve must have: • Shut-off valve with a correct cylinder valve output as specified in current standards. ANSI Z21.58-2015 / CSA 1.6-2015 Outdoor Cooking Gas Appliances. • Type 1 outlet compatible with regulator or grill. The type 1 valve is easily recognized by the large external thread on the outside of the valve. • Safety relief valve with direct connection to the vapor space of the cylinder. • UL listed Overfill Protection Device (OPD). This OPD safety feature is identified by a unique triangular hand wheel. Use only LP cylinders equipped with this type of valve. • A device for vapor withdrawal. • A collar to protect the LP tank shut off valve. • A ring on the bottom of the LP tank to secure it to the support assembly. QCC-1 Quick Closing Coupling All models are designed to be used with an LP gas cylinder equipped with the new QCC-1 Quick Closing Coupling system. The QCC-1 system incorporates new safety features required by the Canadian Standards Steering Committee. • Gas will not flow until a positive connection has been made • A thermal element will shut off the flow of gas between 240-300° F. • When activated, a Flow Limiting Device will limit the flow of gas to 10 cubic feet per hour. WARNING Any attempt to connect a regulator to any connectors other than the mating TYPE -1 connector could result in fires, explosions, injuries, or property damage. Use only LP cylinders equipped with this type of valve. Hope this helps!

Q : When converting to NG, the instructions say to remove a screw in the control knobs, which allow a greater flow of NG to the burners. The pressure of NG in my building is so high, I can't keep the temperature lower than 500f. Should I put back the screws?

R : Thank you for your question, when experiencing high flames / high heat after converting to Natural Gas, there is a chance that the conversion wasn’t done correctly. Please ensure that all the LP orifices have been removed and only the NG orifices remain. Here is a link to the Natural Gas Conversion Kit manual http://cvsbbq.com/manuals/Convertible_Valve_System_Manual_E.pdf Please make sure that you have completed all the steps in its entirety including the adjustment of the switch screw behind the control knob which adjusts the air fuel mixture. The switch screw should not be removed, just the LP orifices attached to your manifold assembly, located inside the burner box. For troubleshooting support please contact our Customer Support Centre at 1-855-453-2150.

R : The Master Chef 85-3136-8 Elite 2 burner BBQ comes with a hose & regulator that connects to 5 lb, 10 lb and 20 lb propane tanks for typical use. However you add the 85-3699-8 Master Chef Propane Adaptor to the BBQ’s hose and regulator to connect to 16 oz Coleman Propane tanks.
