l bought this machine 5 years ago and honestly thought it was a pretty sturdy machine. l only use it to walk but really liked the speeds and incline that were available. Going on the fifth year now things started to go wrong. First off the stop button stopped working. l was forced to use the pause button everytime l finished my workout. Then the machine started to get hot and started to smell. l lubricated the belt to a tee every time the indicator came on to remind me to do so. Then the machine would all of a sudden just stop after an hour of walking. Since that was the end of my workout l would just shut it off till the next day, but the same thing happened again. l then started to take the cover off when l would work out, thinking it was just overheating. That seemed to work until one day l forgot to take the cover off and again, after an hour the machine just shut off. The next day l went to begin my workout and nothing. The red light on the start switch came on but nothing else. The whole console was not even lighting up and nothing worked as it seems to be completely dead. So after only five years of only using it only in the winter months it seems to be done. My mother has an antique treadmill that's probably 30 years old and it's still going. So after paying a good buck for this machine, as sturdy as it seems, l would definately not recommend it.

Si j'avais à un acheter un deuxième, je prendrais le même modèle.
Il est robuste et pas très bruyant. Il possède des bons amortisseurs. et côté programmes d'entraînement il ne manque de rien.
Oui, Je recommande ce produit.

Defective Keypads

My parents bought this treadmill about a year ago, and are experiencing the same issues others have mentioned. The INCLINE & SPEED keys stopped working. Considering the number of people who mentioned similar issues (any can only imagine the number of other incidents not mentioned), it sounds like a product defect!

Poor Product and Poor Service

Stay away from this model. I bought this treadmill 4 years ago and had nothing but trouble ever since. First the treadmill started to smoke. Then the consul broke down. Horizon sent me a new motor and consul but still you couldn't walk for 30 minutes without the treadmill shutting down. Recently, it started to trip the electrical breaker.
Looks like the circuit board is damaged. I contacted horizon and Canadian Tire but no reply.

R : I fail to see any advantage in doing this. The quick keys are in MPH, from 1-12 which can be fine tuned by using the + or - keys. You would end up having to mentally convert to km anyway, so why bother? Even if it is possible to do so, you would be pushing mph buttons & seeing kmph on the screen!

R : I would say this is the quietest treadmill I have heard! Other than the loud start up beep, you hardly know its running. I placed a anti fatigue mat under mine for noise reduction & protection.

Q : The default opening sound is too loud. How to adjust it? The opening sound is too loud. Everytime when you start it, it will beep and the the sound volume is at the highest 8. Is there a way to set the default volume to a lower level?

R : That's a common problem which is only fixed by keypad replacement. I had it replaced twice and no the third one is broken too.

R : It needs a new plastic keypad - the piece with the Start and Stop controls. Have my second replacement on order now. It is under warrant, but be prepared to wait a couple of months.

Q : Will stomping bother downstairs neigbours? I'm in a wood-framed apartment building, and my neighbours have mentioned that they can hear me walking around sometimes. Will they want to kill me if I use this treadmill over their heads? Would a rubber mat be recommended underneath it?
