Just want to put it out there...
Purchased this online and pickup. From the images, I thought it was a Liberty Garden brand hose reel. When I picked it up, the customers service that brought out the product gave me a Garant hose reel. I guess it looks similar, since its the same design and colour, but the decorative design along the side is different, and on top, it says AMES instead of Liberty, like in the picture.

Best hose reel

I've had this hose reel for a couple of years. Winding up the hose is smooth, no kinking, and it lasts. I have used several different styles of plastic hose reels in the past. They were a total waste of money. They broke or got stuck. This hose reel works really well after two years and I'm sure it will be around for many more.

For this kind of money, even on sale, you would expect it to last. Very disappointed that after 2 years, I am already looking for a replacement. Connector to hose broken, leakage. Disappointing!

Q : Source of replacement parts? I contacted Garant but they are not the manufacturer of this hose reel and they cannot provide replacement parts. They informed me I need to go back to Canadian Tire. Where can we order replacement parts for this hose reel?

R : I have purchased this item recently and it is made by Liberty Garden Products; Product #704. You can find replacement parts on their website but they are based in the US so you will probably have to call them to arrange replacement parts to Canada. If you are just replacing the gasket/O-rings to solve as leak, Canadian Tire carries these. It is also suggested in the assembly instructions to use Teflon tape on all hose connections for a better seal.

Q : Is it normal that it has some clinging sound when turning the reel? When I turn the reel to reel in the hose, it makes some clinging sound as if there's some metal pieces trapped inside the tubes of the reel. I returned it once due to leaking connector and the 2nd one also has the same clinging sound.
