This was the recommended transducer for Helix 5 sonar d2. The first time I used it on the ice it worked great. The second time I took it out on the ice the Helix said it did not recognize the transducer and went into simulation mode. I tried a few things like unhooking it and reconnecting again and turning the power head on and off but I couldn’t get it to work. The next time out it worked fine again?

Works with Helix 5 with Chirp

Canadian Tire description does not match 100% manufacturer information which also has conflicting information in the documentation in the packaging BUT this unit does on fact work with HELIX 5 main unit. Only thing is CHIRP function disabled when using this transducer with a Helix unit with chirp.

Capability with PiranhaMax 4 PT

Hi, I recently purchased a PiranhaMAX 4 PT, s/n 200907U1-0189 and additionally purchased a Ice Transducer model XI 9 20, part # 710211-1 as per the stores recommendation. Went fishing days later and the Sonar would not recognize the Ice Transducer. Had to use the boat transducer which worked well by the way, just had to work around a setup to hang it into the ice hole.
Question is, is this the proper Ice Transducer for this sonar ?

Works great. I’ve lost track of how old it is, but maybe about 7 years? I use it during the summer from a kayak and ice fishing in the winter. The dual cone angles of 20 and 60 degrees is very useful, depending upon how deep I’m fishing.

R : The 998 can use the XI 9 20 Ice Ducer shown at Canadian tire. You will not get a flasher view but will be able to see returns on the 2d sonar view.

R : This link doesn't show a specific part # for the transducer inquired about. However, the XI 9 20 (710211-1) is the proper ICE Ducer for the 688 CI with updated software.

R : There is no Ice Ducer that is compatible with the PMAX175. The standard transducer that came with the unit can be used for Ice Fishing. However, you would have to stabilize the transducer so that it is level and we have no accessories available to accommodate this.
