    Good price and style. Very accurate and has personal settings for each person. I have a different one in the downstairs bathroom and both are within .2 lbs . Did have a battery problem at first with this scale but went out and bought the energizer batteries and it's been two years and still functioning well. A must for any household.

    First off, a recommendation to anyone buying this, read the manual, it takes all of two minutes and it will answer most questions posted here. Setting up a profile for my wife and I took less than five minutes and it's simple to operate. If you could program a VCR way back when, you can program this thing... Weight measurement is fast and accurate. The body fat/water content measurement takes another five seconds. Aesthetically, it is rather nice and looks nice in comparison to what is available, this of course is subjective but the glass makes it blend into your decor a little easier. One feature I would have like yo have seen is back-lit and/or a larger LCD. My eyesight isn't that bad but it's still can me a little awkward to see some of the smaller numbers. Overall, for the price it is right now (Boxing Day week), it's an amazing value. I am considering buying another as a backup!

    Q : How does it Calculate muscle/body fat %? Just wondering how it calculates those percentages given that all you do is step on the scale.

    • R : Just step on the scale, then it can measure the body analysis. This is how the body fat scale measure for the body fat: " Stainless steel electrodes (ie the metal part) which is use for sending a low, safe electrical current through the body to check the body fat, water and muscle mass.

    • R : The warranty is a one year exchange redeemable at your local Canadian Tire store. If used only once per day, the battery should last several months. This also depends on the quality of the battery being used. There is no website for the company who manufactures this scale.

    Q : Why does the total percentage for Fat, Water, and Muscle add up to more than 100% The total combined percentage I am given for % Fat, % Water, and % Muscle is 131.7% can you please explain what this means and how a total percentage over 100 is possible?

    • R : When taking the measurement of Muscle, bone and water from the scale via bioelectrical impedance testing method (in our case, the scale), very often in both the muscle and the bone will contain particles/traces of water which also gets calculated (overlapped) into the equation during the bioelectrical impedance testing. This is what contributes to the additional percentage as identified and it will be impossible to completely isolate the readings due to the limitation that the bioelectrical impedance testing method. In additional, we must also take into consideration that the human organs and other elements have not been measured during the bioelectrical impedance testing (e.g. Oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sulfur, sodium, chlorine and magnesium). The readings are used for reference only during the diet/exercise routine, it helps the user to monitor their results as a reference point from the start to the end.

    Q : Can it be switched to LBS after being programmed at KGS? I did not realize it was pre-set at KGS. I was unable to switch it to show LBS from the switch on the back. Despite pulling out the batteries and reset the switch to lbs, it still shows KGS
