The infrared engineering is genius ! Put an entire cut up chicken on the grill with all the skin on, the first day I got the grill home. Not one flare up ! Holds the heat very well, even in Northern Minnesota when it's below zero ! Great Grill.

First time using it I had issues with keeping the spit in the motor. The brackets are flimsy. As long as you keep an eye on it, the taste of the food is phenomenal.

I have the CB940X charcoal grill. Charbroil reports they do not have a rotisserie that works with any of their charcoal grills. The CB940X is pre-drilled to hold rotisserie brackets and there are openings in both sides of the lid to accommodate the spit rod. So, obviously the engineers had a rotisserie in mind when they designed the BBQ. Their Premium Electric Rotisserie is the only one they carry that is long enough for the CB940X. Even though it was not specifically designed for this grill and is not a perfect fit, it still works with some minor modifications. First, the holes in the end brackets line up perfectly with the pre-drilled holes in the BBQ. The two problems are: 1. The handle that attaches to the spit is too long and hits the shelf that holds the cutting board. You cannot just leave the handle off because you need the bushing that rests in the bracket. To solve the problem, using a hacksaw, just cut off the last couple of inches of the handle. 2. The holes in the sides of the BBQ lid are not quite large enough and they rub on the spit as it turns. I tried adjusting the brackets but was unable to resolve the problem. I solved the problem by using a grinder to round off the square corners of the spit where it passes through the lid. I could have used a file, but a Dremel grinder is much faster.

I had the universal on an old grill-it worked perfectly. The premium was recommended for a new grill model so I purchased it. It is exactly the same as the universal. Exactly.
