Sturdy and spacious

It's 5 stars, but deducting 1 star because it can be tricky to assemble so it really helped to have a second pair of hands. The instructions for some of the assembly were a bit confusing. Figured it out in the end, but you can count on a good hour to put it together. The hydraulic lift is a nice touch in that it keeps the lid open. It's an attractive storage unit and was more spacious than I had imagined.

Just assembled and had no problems. The only hitch was that one of the screw holes on the lid support was not machined for the size of screw supplied - no problems as there were six other screws for the piece, which is more than adequate. Was on sale at 30%, and could find nothing that suited the storage requirements I had that was as attractive. Based on reviews of similar products from this supplier, I am not concerned with the quality or with water leaks. If assembling such a unit the comments of another reviewer are valid - use a long handled screw driver and don't over tighten screws.

Ordered online and it was out of stock, but the attendant that was looking after my order followed up with me perfectly and I picked it up at the store when notified with no issues.
The Box itself is as expected. It is best to install the screws by hand as it is too easy to "strip out" when going into the plastic. Instructions are a little vague and written by someone who has put a few of them together (ie. not clear on a couple of steps). Some of the lid screws are awkward to get in and you may need an angled driver (a longer shaft will work and the screws start at an angle and straighten out as you thread them in)
I actually used this box as a cover for my 5KW Generator. I removed the bottom and added 4 angle brackets to stiffen the assembly. Looks nice and just lifts off in the event I need to use the generator.
All things considered .... good choice for me and the purpose I got it for.

R : Look for the “sturdy design for seating” label on the deck box carton. Small deck boxes can hold one person (about 150 pounds). This assumes ordinary care will be used while sitting.

R : Deck Box is “Water Resistant”. Under most circumstances, it will keep objects inside dry. However, in extreme conditions, such as high winds or prolonged exposure to water / snow, moisture can creep in. All the corners, base and top surfaces overlap to help keep moisture out, but we cannot guarantee that it will never happen.
