A fairly heavy item obviously dropped in handling

I picked this up from the S.E. Vancouver store. A nice young man helped me load it into my truck. I was disappointed to see that, upon unboxing, it was evident that it had been dropped. The damage was limited to the lower door and frame. I was able to bend the door flange back out so I could un-lock the safe. The bottom corner weld is separated and and the painted finish is cracked. A word to the wise, unbox this item in the store.

We bought this for our guns and important documents, and so far it seems to work perfectly. It is small enough that it doesn't take up too much room in our home

Very Good Purchase

I just picked up the safe and installed it. I'm happy with the purchase. The quality was good and I like the grey colour instead of the green.
I didn't have any problems with the door as other reviews had. I suspect the problems relate to how the product was handled by the particular Canadian Tire Store. As explained to me by the pick person at the Lakeshore Canadian Tire, the box can only be lean on two side with the arrows on the box (otherwise the door could be bent).
The safe can store two longer shotguns without interfering having to remove the self. If you have more than two longer shotguns, you will have to remove the shelf.
I think the safe is worth a bit more money than the steel cabinet.
Note that Canadian Tire has larger safes $200 off, but they don't seem to be advertised. The only reason I know is that I saw them in the warehouse and asked when I picked up my safe.
The safe is heavy and was awkward with only one person moving it up the stairs and through the house.
Overall, I think this is a good purchase when it's on sale.

Good Cabinet

I was given one for a Christmas gift and think its great. The only thing I find odd is the shelf is not useable with my shot gun in it as the gun seems to be to long. Its a regular length shotgun, they could have made it a little taller that's all.
