    Bought a couple of months ago and finally used them yesterday. Couple of issues. One was missing misc nuts and screws. The other may have been previously sold. The boomes were not tie wrapped and for a while I thought I was missing the smaller tube. Then I found it stuck inside the bigger segment. Had trouble getting it out because they like rusted together. One of the cables snapped for no apparent reason on one of them and I lost one of my 14lb balls and of course the terminator and the auto stop device along with the ball clip. Bummer. I also purchased the ball retractors and had to modify the cause they would not close due to manufacturing flaws. The wheels were being squished. Used a dremel tool to remove excess material from the housings. Hope the rest of the equipment went through a better quality control process. This isn’t my first rodeo. Owned a set of digital in the past and had no issues.

    Magnum 10 electric down riggers.

    I have been using cannon down-riggers for over 40 years. I have never experienced problems with quality in the past. I just purchased two magnum 10 electrics. On both of the down riggers the depth counters would not budge. I literally had to pound both of the counters out (ruining one). After I got both out I had to file down the sides and bottom to allow them to move. I don’t think I will ever order another cannon product. Very disappointed!

    Bought two, both missing hardware

    Just bought two of the Magnum 10's. Still just assembling them. But both are missing different hardware. One only came with one tensioning spring for the rod holder soft knobs. One didn't come with the screw for attaching the swivel head to the boom. Neither one came with phillips pan heads that are actually long enough to engage the locking part of the nylock nut for attaching the boom. They only engage two threads of the nut and don't even come close to the nylon part that actually "locks". Will have to go to the hardware store. I need to buy longer screws for attaching the boom. I need to buy a spring for a rod holder soft knob. I need to buy a screw to attach the swivel head to the boom. Still assembling. We'll see how they actually work. But not impressed yet. Attention to detail seems really lacking right out of the box.

    Been fishing mag 10 stx for over 5 years now. By far the best downrigger out there. Much more robust construction than the competition. I run 15-18lb balls and they handle it fine.
