Bought this a couple of years ago and the pins at the back of the camera rusted out, at that point, they are a throw-away item. Very disappointing considering they are supposed to remain mounted to the outside of the vehicle.

First off I would like to emphasize how great it is to have a quality back up camera on your vehicle. I have one on my F150 and when used in conjuncture with a vehicle walk around, mirrors and shoulder checks, it is much safer.
That being said this is not a quality system. I'm not sure if it is because it's wireless, but the picture is fuzzy with poor contrast. and it cuts in and out. As well the power supply connecting clips are cheap and may cut your wiring. Thankfully Canadian Tire stands behind their products and this is going back today.

Terrible range, camera out of focus

Product touted it could be used with the optional exterior wireless camera which I also picked up. Indicated a 10 Meter range. They were wrong.
Would get intermittent signal mounted on the back of my Jeep unlimited and would get no signal at all when mounted at the back of our small travel trailer.
When it did get signal and clear picture the camera was horribly out of focus so using it to backup and hitch trailers was useless. For those of you in the reviews complaining about the picture blinking on and off, that is due to intermittent signal. Just take the monitor out of your vehicle and move closer to the camera and you will get solid signal to provide the product does work but has very low range.
Product going back to store and find something different. Too bad as the idea and packaging was good, magnets are strong on exterior camera but poor performance kills it.

Q : Why isn't the primary camera in this system rechargeable in the same manner as the expanded version so it can be used on multiple vehicles.? I want to be able to switch this camera to different vehicles in my family but hardwiring a camera every time is an unnecessary step. It there a plug in where I can use my four prong connector or 12 volt adapter as camera power?

R : One way to make it portable is to set up a small wiring lead that connects to your trailer plug in, on the park light circuit. You would just have to turn on the vehicle park lights and the camera would be powered up.

R : No there is none available. It unfortunately has a very limited range, way too low for trailer use with optional external camera.

Q : Is there a delay of the camera turning on when you put your vehicle into reverse? I was reading some of the reviews of earlier Yada backup cameras and a common concern was that it took from 4 to 30 seconds before the camera to turn on after the vehicle was shifted into reverse? Is there a long delay with this model?

R : Yes. But, 4-30 seconds, for a delay is very short. Unless, you're driving an emergency vehicle, then it may be a concern. Otherwise, to me, it's not even a concern. There's even a delay in some of those factory installed models, in the new cars of today.

R : Yes. It just magnetically clips on to the trailer. Super easy to pair. The monitor even has the option of a split screen so you can see both cameras at once if needed

R : Si vous connectez l'appareil photo toujours sur une source de 12v, la vue de la caméra dans votre moniteur sera toujours allumé. Vous pouvez alors désactiver l'affichage en utilisant le commutateur marche / arrêt sur votre moniteur. Nous vous demandons s'il vous plaît vérifier vos lois locales que certaines régions ne permettent pas de vidéo en continu pour être joué pendant la conduite.

R : Les caméras ont été testés dans les froids d'hivers Canadiens. Comme avec tout appareil électronique, il ya des limites. L'emballage confirme travailler à -10 ° C. Si vous utilisez l'appareil photo quotidienne, vous ne devriez pas rencontrer d'éventuelles interruptions de fonctionnement. Q : How will this particular model perform in cold Canadian Winters? I've noticed negative reviews for other yada backup cameras and some people advise those models will not work once the cold weather comes. Is this true for all Yada models?

R : The cameras have all been tested in the cold Canadian winters. As with any electronic device, there are limitations. The packaging confirms working to -10C. If you are using the camera daily you should not experience any interruptions in operation. If you are planning to let the camera sit for a few weeks in the extreme cold you may need to let the unit warm up in order to operate properly.
