Disappointed that it came with Miracle Grow aka a synthetic chemical fertilizer. Not something I would want in my food. The pods are also made of plastic.

AeroGarden nutrients contain a patented pH buffer which puts most tap water in the U.S into the perfect range for healthy growth, even if it may be undrinkable when unfiltered. I was created in conjunction with Miracle Gro but is designed and created by AeroGarden. We do appreciate your feedback and will share this with our development team.

Product does not last, don't buy!

I received this as a Christmas Gift just over a year ago. I loved it at first, I thought I would have herbs to grow for years. I was wrong, the entire machine suddenly stopped working after 18 months of regular and gentle use. So not worth the money, if it was under 100 dollars I wouldn't be as upset but these things should last 5 years in my opinion. I contacted customer service. not much help... they said the warranty covers 1 year, and there is nothing they can do. If you buy it, know that it's likely not going to last much more than a year.

Received this product (9 pod system) as a gift. It worked and stuff grew as predicted. Couldn't even begin to use all the basil or the other herbs. (3 of the 9 pods didn't produce at all) Eventually pulled all the pods and used the platform for my succulent collection. In March I disassembled it and packed it up. Then I got my year-end hydro report. I had overage costs of $30 over the year and my monthly payment was increased by $4 for the new year. Gave the machine away for free.

Definitely liking the ease of use. Got the grow anything pods as well and growing whatever I want to. Love how the hydroponics is like a self watering/feeding system, before my plants just died.

Buy It! Its the Best!

I bought mine two years ago and it was the best money I have ever spent. I bought it when the cost for lettuce was over $4 and cauliflower was $9. And I'm on the way to the store to purchase another one!! WITHIN days my romaine lettuce was sprouting and I enjoyed fresh lettuce off of two plants. I bought grow some 'your own pods' and planted tomatoes, wow what results. I was so impressed I convinced my sister in law to get one. She too loves it that she has recently bought a second one too. It is the easiest thing to grow. It tells you when to add water and when to add nutrients. Yes I have had a pod or two that didn't sprout, well guess what, when we buy seeds or plants at the garden centre sometimes those don't sprout either. So I don't know what people are complaining about. Given that winter is here and the cost of lettuce and tomatoes are going to double or triple in price, this is best way to have fresh, great tasting vegetables. I would HIGHLY recommend!! Tip: I planted my romaine lettuce pods at different intervals so I would have constant lettuce throughout the winter.
