Bradford store sold expired one. Actually they expired last year! I drive 45 minutes to buy it :( Every time I tell to myself that’s the last time I am buying at Canadian Tire!

Watch expiry date!!!

It is a great product but.. this product has an expiry date. I bought it at our local CT and the expiry is 3 months away. CT should not be selling something that is so close to the expiry date. Obviously CT does not check this, so you should. This may be important if you cannot use all of it within the time period to expiry. Here is the rationale:
Health Canada is advising Canadians to stop using pesticides that contain malathion if the product is over a year old. A chemical called isomalathion can naturally form in these products over time, particularly when stored at elevated temperatures. After storage for more than a year, it’s possible that levels of isomalathion could become a concern, even when containers are stored correctly.
Isomalathion may cause symptoms such as nausea, dizziness and irritation to the eyes, nose and throat. As part of a cautionary approach, the Department advises that Canadians who have this product to safely discard it if you are not sure of the date of purchase.

Bon insecticide général contre plusieurs insectes. Utilisé sur mon solage et sur des nids de fourmis. J'ai obtenu de bons résultats avec une seule application. Les posologies sont bien indiquées.

R : The Wilson 50% Malathion is for Outdoor use only. It is for use on flowers, vegetables, fruit trees, shrubs and trees. VEGETABLES, FRUITS, FLOWERS AND ORNAMENTALS: To control aphids, bagworm, beetles, budmoth, cabbage worm, caterpillars, codling moth, currant fruitworm, fruit moth, lace bug, leafhopper, leafminer, leafroller, mealybug, mites, pine shoot moth, pear psylla, plant bug, plum Curculio, potato beetle, raspberry fruitworm, tent caterpillars, whitefly. Mix 10 mL (2 teaspoonfuls) in 3 litres of water and spray to wet all surfaces of foliage. Apply at first appearance of insects. Repeat application as required or at 7 day intervals. Do not apply within seven days of harvest of edible crops. Leaf Lettuce within fourteen days. For Spruce Budworm apply at 20 mL (4 teaspoonfuls) in 3 litres of water as soon as larvae appear. Injury may occur to African violet, crassula, fern, petunia, Sabina and Canaerti Juniper, red maple, McIntosh and Courtland apples, Bosc and Bartlett pears, and Ribier Grapes. CLOVER MITES, ANTS AND MILLIPEDES: TREATMENT OF OURDOOR STRUCTURAL FOUNDATIONS ONLY and 1 m wide path surrounding the foundation. Mix 60 mL (4 tablespoonfuls) in 1 litre of water and spray exterior walls and around buildings. MOSQUITOES: Mix 20 mL (4 teaspoonfuls) in 3 litres of water and spray on 40 sq. metres of shrubs. Avoid application of this product when winds are gusty. DO NOT apply to any body of water. Q : Can this be used on dwarf alberta spruce safely? Need to kill spider mites. Can't use horticulture oil because read that it is toxic to dwarf alberta spruce plants.

R : Yes,Wilson Malathion is an excellent choice for controlling spider mites on any woody ornamental plant, including a spruce. Use it as recommend on the label, apply early in the moring before the sun's rays are strong, and never apply any pesticide if the daily temperatures will rise above 24 degree's Celsius. As a further note Horticultural oil is safe for your Alberta Spruce. It should not be used on a Colorado Blue Spruce as it will change the colouring to green for several seasons.

Q : Will this work for my gardenia which is covered in spider mites? I haven’t had it long and the gardenia as well as my hibiscus have spider mites :( Both purchased at the same place which makes me think they came with the little buggers!!

R : Hello, this product is to be used when the insect is apparent and outdoor only. Injury may also occur to Crassula. We only recommend the use on the insects listed on the label. You should stop using the product for 2 to 3 weeks before bringing your plants inside. Thank you!

Green Earth Chinch buster Nematodes are a naturally occurring, microscopic worms, that will target Chinch bugs without harming any other beneficial insects and are easily applied by spray on your lawn. (Canadian Tire sku 059-4339-4).
