I purchased this unit with the ice machine package. My first day on the ice I realized I had a faulty transducer. I called Tech Support and he agreed it was a transducer issue and sent me another one. should be here in a week. I haven't seen this unit in action yet but Lowrance tech support was top notch. If the unit works like its supposed to then this will be a 5 start unit.

i cant say its a great product

i bought an ELITE 4 but unfortunately when i started the device for the first time it was working but the second time when i start by bushing the start button it lights up but only appearing ELITE LOWRANCE on the screen and nothing more and if i try to shut it up it doesn't work .
i don't know this problem

turn the unit on and just get lowrance 4 elite on screen that's it cant turn off or do any thing help.

Used my unit twice and the depth indicator started flashing on one depth. I turned it off and on 4 times and it would read the proper depth then start flashing again. I also have a HDS 7 and love it.

I have owned elite 4 Chirp fishfinder/Chart (grayscale) for a year now and after learning how to operate some of the features this device has to offer I have become very pleased with it. The unit is worth every penny spent – and I’m still learning. This is an ideal unit for kayaks and small bass boats. The chirp system really brings out the detail in ID-ing fish, no need to rely on fish symbols to detect them. Having GPS and charts help get back to those holes that produced fish before. Not having color is a drawback but the gray scales are functional. My only complaint is Lowrance needs to improve their operation manual. I spent a lot of time on the water just trying to operate it. I have an old eagle sonar, easy to use, but all it did was throw fish symbols on the screen and gave me water depth, the Elite 4 combo unit gives me so much more and not for that much more money.

Q : Does it comes with base map on a SD card or build in I purchase it yesterday and I see the spot were to insert the SD card but it's no SD card on the package so I was wondering if it's missing or if the base maps are load it in the unit.
