bad experience

i bought 5 months ago. It won’t hold heat once the food is on the grill. It barely stays at 250 when it’s turned to 550 degrees. It brags that you can make several burgers at once. Then it stays at 250. I had to take them all out and finish in a frying pan. Garbage.
i called canadiantire they said bring it back . i am going to give them back

NO SET UP HELP

I bought this bbq yesterday after researching on line and recommendations. Today it is spread out all over my floor because NO DIRECTIONS came for set up. I cannot set the bbq up without directions so cannot use it.

Waste of money

We bought one of these three years ago. We should have returned it. It won’t hold heat once the food is on the grill. It barely stays at 350 when it’s turned to 550 degrees. Apartment / portable BBQ

This BBQ is great for apartment or camping people. It is quick and clean. Just plug it in, turn it on and grill away. I find the meat juicier than the propane BBQ method.

Good for condos, but dont leave it out in winter.

Bought this 2 years ago for our townhouse as anything with a flame was not allowed. It does lose heat fast when opened but I find it still cooks food at a normal rate, I also never needed it to go that high as others said it wouldnt go past 470. The food tastes great on it too.
However, I left it out both winters with a cover it seemed to just deteriorate the second one. There is rust on the bottom plate, the rack below the bowl, the grate itself and the nuts & bolts. The lid comes loose al the time but now its hard to tighten it with rusted bolts. Im most upset about the grates finish chipping off in large areas and rusting. It still works like it always has but I wish it could last a little longer before rusting.
It's good but just bring it inside during the cold/wet months or make sure its very protected from the elements.

Q : While using this, would it be some interuption of electriciy due to high usage? When I use my hair dryer if other things are using elecricity are on then sectional electricity gets off. So I am wondering if this is the case with this BBQ

R : It does say in the instructions that this is to be plugged into a 'separate' outdoor outlet only. This is because the wattage is pretty huge. Outdoor plugs are usually separate and heavy duty because they are meant for equipment drawing a lot of power. Also, follow the instructions about extension cables if you need one. You can't get away with a 'light duty' outdoor cable because the wattage is too low. You have to go for the contractor grade if you want the BBQ heat to stay the same.

R : Easy to pluck the grill out and clean it with a plastic scrubber once in a while. The 'bowl' underneath can be wiped out and the grease tray under that can be emptied. I can't see why it can't stay outdoors with a cover. You are supposed to keep the electric cord inside though, which isn't a big deal.

R : The temperature on mine goes up to 500F in about 10-15 minutes but I've never left it for longer before turning it down to cook burgers/hotdogs on about 450F. The temperature gauge on the lid goes up to 550F. I guess if you like your steak raw but seared, then this might not work. I've had steaks on it done medium and they were great. Height of the grilling surface is about 33inches and overall height is about 38inches.
