I've had this shelter for 5 years now and I'm rather impressed with the durability mainly the framework. Snow does slide off the roof rather easily by itself and only when you get a heavy snowstorm, you should bounce the roof up and down from the inside to help it slide off. It really holds the heat in the summer so I installed vent ducts on both doors to let it escape. Later I find out those grills are now available from Shelter Logic. It's been 4 years now and the cover is starting to split from the sun. I had to cover it with a tarp on sale to protect the snow from ripping it anymore and in the spring have the rain get inside. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars. It's nice to see covers are still available but they are almost the price of the entire shelter so I may just buy another on sale this summer and sell the frame to recover the cost. All in all I highly recommend this shelter as long as you keep some snow off the roof from time to time. Oh, maybe because of where I have it installed I haven't needed to anchor it down and we do get wind. It's heavy enough I guess.

This product was bought for me by my adult kids as a gift. my son and son-in-law helped assemble it in 3 hrs. instructions were clear, everything fitted as it was supposed to, erected in October 2012. I already had a white tarp. of similar material 30ft x 50ft ,which I used to cover the completed shelter for extra protection, held down by cement bricks around the base and poly rope thru the eyelets on the ends. During the winter the snow slid from the sides after the sun loosened it, but stayed on the top about a foot each side of the ridge, 4" deep. This was removed easily by pushing on the inside of the shelter material with a soft broom (bristle side only) which did no damage. I only use one door, but found that the wind against the other door caused it to flap excessively, this I cured by purchasing some 2" x 1" wooden batten and hooking the ends of the batten behind the frame tubing of the wall, being careful not to put pressure on the shelter material, I fitted one across the door at eye level, another vertical at center, forming a plus cross, two pieces diagonally from 11 o'clock to 5 o'clock and 1 to 7 o'clock with a screw thru' them all where they crossed. This gave enough stability to overcome the wind pressure. Like other reviews ,I covered the frame, at the door opening problem, with pipe insulation. I park a Ford Escape in the shelter and still have room to store my winter tires in the corner ,stacked on a wood base. I am very pleased with this shelter.

I purchased this shelter just as winter was starting to settle in. With the help of 2 friends, we had it up in less than 2 1/2 hours. Very easy step by step instructions. Once the snow started falling and settling on the roof, I swept it off and then as per instructions re-adjusted the tension and the rope around the bottom. The next time it snowed, it just slid right off because of the dome roof. We parked our Land Rover Range Rover in it and yes, you have to be careful of the doors hitting the metal poles. I went and bought some pipe insulation and wrapped it around the pipes and the problem was solved. As for height, not a problem at all, vehicle fit right in. Secondly, I burn wood to assist in heating my home. I purchased another one of the same size and put 16 cords of wood in it with room to spare! I have had others that did not have the dome roof and had to watch it when the snow was building up and had to sweep them off as the snow did not slide off. It had a tendency of sagging between the upper metal bars. My opinion is that for me, it did what I wanted it to do. I would advise anyone purchasing this unit, FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS AND RE- ADJUST YOUR TENSION STRAPS AND ROPE FOR MAXIMUM SATISFACTION!!

My wife's Honda Fit has enough room length wise, but the doors cannot open all the way. I am going to have to wrap the support bars to protect the paint on the car doors. Make sure you buy a pack of extra anchors when you buy the kit otherwise you'll be making another trip to the store as these extra anchors are necessary. We are only using one door and I had to run straps across the back door to keep it from flexing in the wind and scratching the paint on the car. Took me close to 10 hours to put this together by myself.

Bought this to replace a damaged shelter with the same advertised dimensions but this is much narrower than the peaked roof model being replaced. 12 foot width is unrealistic, more like 10 feet of usable width. Also the door height is less than advertised. Assembly was delayed due to some incorrect parts in the box. Customer service was helpful and sent correct replacements via courier. Parked a small car inside and can't open the doors all the way.
