There has never been an issue with ours, it sometimes seems a little louder than other times. The only complaint I have is that it is heavy to lift.

Garrison 8000 BTU glad I have it

Got this unit home and it was damaged at the factory, luckily the damage was covered by the window bracket supplied with the unit.
We have used it for about 3 weeks and it keeps our downstairs quite pleasant not ice box though just comfortable. The are it is cooling is over 350 square feet so I am amazed it works as well as it does.
I bought it because it was the only model left in the store I am buying another one for upstairs as I am quite impressed to be honest

Was excited to finally find a suitable air conditioner for the vertical windows in my new apartment, but doesn't cool enough space that I needed it to or expected it to (nowhere near the listed 350 sq. ft.).
Also, very loud and the timer doesn't work well.
But, in the spaces that it does cool down it does work effectively, but you have to be right beside it to feel it in which case you can't ignore it because of the noise.
But, no matter what I think I have to resort to keeping it because theres no selection for vertical air conditioners.

R : We do not supply materials to close of the top of the window when installing a window air conditioner. Like all other manufacturers in the market, it would be difficult to offer such material considering windows styles and dimensions will vary from home to home. We recommend using plexiglass as this will allow you to close off openings above the unit, and at the same time allow the light of day to come through without hindering the look or esthetics of that window.
