My new Lawnbot

il y a 4 mois
I went from another lawnbot that I’ve used for 10 years. I had all the guide wire installed so didn’t have to do again. I had a garage for my old mower which I need to modify for the Landroid. It can’t drive in and back out. It’s very sensitive to charging base position but the manual does clearly show you how to do. The battery life is much longer and charging faster so it’s cutting much quicker. I have a slope in the front where it is having some traction problems. Other than that it does a very good job. My wifi seems to cover the lawn pretty good and the app interface works well.

Cut the lawn.

il y a 4 mois
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Works robotic mower for five years and I just purchased a second machine. These do my lawn four or five times a week and I do get a great job from the effort. It is especially good during the very hot summer days, because I am not doing the lawn!

2-month comprehensive review

il y a 2 ans
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had concerns about the ability of the mower prior to purchase. I am particular about my lawn and wasn't sure that I wanted to give up the neat rows and patterns I created with my electric push mower. I have mobility issues and decided to give this mower a try despite my concerns. In summary, the mower actually works quite well but it will take time and patience to get the mower to be near autonomous. After 6 weeks I am still making adjustments and/or assisting the mower in finding the charging base and also helping it get unstuck. I spent about 4 hours placing the guide wire. The wire DOES start to disappear after a few weeks as claimed by WORX. Grass clipping quickly cover the wire. I was suprised by the buried depth of the wire when I pulled it up in places to make adjustments. The initial mistakes I made were placing the wire to close to a change in elevation. In my case, the lawn drops about four inches to the sidewalk in front of my house. The mower had too much momentum when it approached the sidewalk and it often went "out of bounds" requiring me to manually put it back "in bounds". My solution was to relocate the wire about 20 inches from the edge of the lawn. Keep in mind areas where you use a string trimmer so that you aren't disturbing the guide wire. Also keep in mind areas where a snowblower or plow might tear up the guide wire. The other major annoyance it that the mower tends to dig holes when it tries to change direction, especially when it tries to change direction on uneven ground. Steering is accomplished by one wheel moving in the opposite direction of the other (bulldozer/tank style). The mower often gets stuck in the holes it just dug and has also dug up and cut the guide wire. Now - if after reading everything above - you are still considering by the mower; read on for the what I like about the mower. The first time the mower started mowing automatically and then returned to its base without involvement from me, I was thrilled. Like magic, my lawn was mowed and looked great. The random mowing pattern was not as bad looking as I expected because mowing is continuous. I like that the lawn always looks "just mowed" compared to cutting it once a week with the push mower and having the lawn look so-so after only a few days. Despite my lawn being only a 1/16 of an acre, I opted for the 1/4 acre mower. I tried the 1/8 acre mower but exchanged it. The 1/4 acre mower has 2 wheels in the front vs 1, has a battery that is 2x as large and also seems quicker that the 1/8 acre mower. I continue to make small adjustments to the guide wire and the mower needs "saving" less and less. My advice in placing the guide wire is to place it knowing that you will need to make adjustments based on how the mower handles terrain. As long as you set your expectations ahead of time and are willing to spend many weeks making adjustments, you should be very happy with this mower.

Q : Third time asking. What is Worx doing about the fact these treads are so big, that it tears your grass on corners. didn't happen with previous version. No matter how I change the wiring it digs if you have a corner.

  • R : Hello there. To prevent this from happening depends on your soil type and if the ground is wet or muddy. I recommend using the auto-schedule to set the type of soil you have for the Landroid to adjust the way it works to prevent this. Also, try adjusting the wire to gradually turn into the area instead of self-correct on a sharp turn as it is coming into the slop.

  • R : Hello Jon! Thank you for your question. This tool will not be able to go between zone because it uses a boundary wire. You would need to set up another zone with its own boundary wire and base then pick up the robot between each zone. However, you are able to set up a schedule through the app. I will suggest, if you did want the tool to be able to move between each zone on its own I would suggest taking a look at the Landroid Visions! Thank you for choosing Worx!

  • R : Hello There! Thank you for your question. The Worx Landroid WR147 is designed to handle various terrains, but it may struggle with tree roots that are above ground. It's recommended to use boundary wire to mark off areas with exposed roots to prevent the mower from getting stuck or damaged. Thank you for choosing Worx!

  • R : Hello There! Thank you for your question. This Landroid model will be need to have all obstacles surrounded with the boundary wire as this model will not be able to see the obstacles within the boundary. Since you have frequently moving obstacles we would suggest looking out our Landroid Vision models rather then the models with the boundary wire. This is becasue the Vision models will be able to see all obstacles and turn away from them, as well you will not need to install a wire! Once the base is set up, the mower will start to move anywhere it sees grass. Thank you for choosing Worx!
