We received this monitor as a gift during our baby shower and it has been an absolute piece of garbage and headache since. The camera quality in great when it works but after about a month the parent unit loses connectivity to the wifi and no matter what steps I follow it wont reconnect and becomes completely useless. I have contacted technical support and they couldn't talk me through the issues I was having either. Vtech decided to send us a second unit brand new in box and after a month the problems started again the exact same way. I have done all the updates and looked through the manuals and online tips but nothing works. Lucky for me the camera lasted 30 days and now cant be returned to the manufacturer and I am left with a nice little piece of e-waste.

Great picture quality!

Bought this as an upgrade from a monitor that was a couple years old. Picture quality is really good, even when zoomed in 4x at night. The monitor is a great size. It was very easy to install (we opted not to use the wifi feature just yet). Our biggest complaint is that the battery does not last long (gives 1 full night of monitoring our baby without being charged). Not a huge deal when it sits on our nightstand next to an outlet anyways. Very happy!

Awesome quality

Our monitor stopped working just as baby was starting to sleep in their own bedroom. Talk about a stressful moment for a first time mom! So, after looking up what was readily available in town, I found this one and decided to give it a try! Well, I am very pleased with it. The quality of the monitor is great! You can see the baby very clearly. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I find the battery doesn't last as long as I would like it to. It's worth the investment!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like that this device comes with two cameras to monitor. I have two areas that I frequently will put my infant in. This allows me too be able to monitor without having to reset up equipment or change devices. I have one monitor that came with this system it works great clear picture. The sound quality also has been no trouble picks up noises clearly I can usually even hear my babies breathing. There is an app which is super convenient, I can monitor even when I'm not at home. Overall I am satified with this monitor it is basically what I had been looking for.

R : Yes you can. I bought this myself and my wife and I are in love with it. Total bang for your buck. If the sometimes you may forget to carry the monitor with you or you may even lose it having toddlers in your home… but what makes this great is you can also see everything from your phone. With the app I get the opportunity to check in on my kids while I’m at work. It’s truly amazing!

R : They will work. These RM series monitors operate via 2 separate video streams. The default is the Parent Unit to the Camera, using a closed loop of 2.4GHz Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum. Because it's frequency hopping, it will jump to clear channels. Frequency Hopping also adds a layer of security to the video. As for the second stream, that would be the optional WiFi to your home router should you choose to enable WiFi (default is Off). The WiFi stream will go via the router, and the internet if you are out of the home, to your smart device (Smart phone, Laptop, iPad, etc) using our Free MyVtech App, which includes password protection. If one of the streams is clear, and the other is not, then that means there is interference somewhere, not caused by the camera. If both are not clear, move the camera's location, that often fixes it.
