RLED4945-UHD model

CT had this 49" 4K HDTV model on clearance, having continued inventory with the RLED4843-UHD model. Both TVs use the same NTSC/ATSC color system. However the View Angle stated in the RLED4945 model, 178(H)/178(V), is far from correct. The picture starts to blanch at about 40-45 degrees from direct view at 90%. The actual horizontal View is about 90 degrees. Sound is OK. Have yet to test all the capabilities of the 4945, but since the tuner does not meet stated view angle specifications, this unit may be defective. Other online reviews of this model did not identify a problem with the tuner.

Great picture, horrible sound!

All in all, for the price, this is not that bad a TV as long as you have a surround-sound system or a soundbar.
The picture is no where near a Samsung or any other high end TV but for the price, you can't go wrong. I had the choice of either buying this 48" 4K TV or for $50 less, a 50" HDTV
I chose this because I wanted to see what the quality was really like. I admit, the sound quality takes away from the final score. I would have given it 4 stars but I just can't.
Do understand that you need to have a device capable of 4K to get the best experience but the picture with my Bell HD satellite, Laptop using HDMI or Android box is great! Very happy with the purchase and will be happier after I invest in a new soundbar.

Horrible - No VGA and display washed out in pink

This was the second 48" of the same model. The first one had no VGA input, plastic feet and a defect on the screen that looked like a grease smudge and showed up whenever there was solid color on that area. The next one was quite different with metal feet, a redesigned IR receiver, still no VGA input and a horrible pink hue over the entire screen as soon as it gets finished with the power up routine and starts displaying a source signal. Returning this one will be my third trip and another 2 hours driving not to mention the time spent assembling and disassembling and trying to get some support out of the company RCA has outsourced. WOW what a let down. If you are going to buy something made in China better off getting something from a Chinese company. I didn't even get an attempt at an explanation of the pink display. Just hold the power button 10 sec, unplug for 60 sec and try again... if nogo return it. Connected my old unit that I was going to upgrade from and I am happy to stay with that one even though it only does 1080p. In fact after adjusting the display a bit I watched The Hobbit on BD and honestly could not imagine seeing any difference with 4k.
