Very Bright light with easy settings which is good because there was no information sheet provided. Though there were supposed to three settings I could only distinguish two of them which easily do the job of a regular light or bright light (solid or flashing).

Instructions are poor. A puzzle as to how to get all 6 modes from one button.

I picked up the LED Rear Light as shown in the listing on an in-store clearance. It's a great verticle mounting light, I don't know why they redesigned it as the model that replaced it isn't as good. It emits light from 3 sides, it's highly visible without being too bright, like many rear lights are, and has a great range of modes that are simple to use: click once to turn on to activate High (1.5 hrs), Low (6 hrs), Fast Flash (24 hrs), Slow Flash (27 hrs), Pulsating (4 hrs). Cycle through each light mode with a single button depress. Hold the power button 2.5-5 seconds and it turns off. The side red led battery indicator is a nice feature if you can remember each percentage: Solid 100-75%, Pulsating 74-50%, Slow Flash 49-25%, Fast Flash 24-0%. Only using it twice so far the pulsating mode from high to low is my favorite but it doesn't last as long. There's no indication on the rechargeable battery size, I assume around 500mAh like the newer model. The model that replaced it is a horizontal design secured with a rubberized strap and locking mount clip, it seems durable. Unfortunately it only utilizes a rear facing lens yet using the same LED light strip. Each end or side of the light has 2 red lens cutouts but they barely illuminate as most of the light is directed out the rear. It does have a battery indicator lens though I'm unsure what the light colors or blinking mean. Operation is similar, a simple press of the rubberized button to turn on but it comes with no instructions so that's where the modes get confusing. Using a stated 500mAh battery and 6 settings it offers High (1.5 hrs) Medium (2.5 hrs) Low (6 hrs) Quick Flash High Beam (2 hrs) Slow Flash Medium Beam (2 hrs) Slow Flash Low Beam (4.5 hrs). The flash modes in expected battery life vary significantly between the original model and the new one, I'm going to assume it's a printing error until I test them both out further. Switching from solid to flashing was a stroke of intuition on a rather stupid or flawed design and lack of instructions. Press and Hold the Power Button for 5 seconds, the light will go off and come back on into the flashing mode. Hold for 2.5 seconds and the light turns off. Why Canadian Tire discontinued the first model and replaced with newer one I'm not sure. That being said, either model is better than the current shelf offerings as both of these are not likely available.

The light is nice and bright and I like the fact that it can be recharged via USB but the flashing function that is advertised on the packaging simply doesn't work. Still good as a solid "on" I guess.

Battery doesn’t last long.but price was reasonable.. light is good and bright.
