Look for a better pump - this isn't it!

Bought this pump last week - comes unassembled. Very low quality parts and fittings. Wasted 1/2 a day installing it, wouldn't even start (just hummed)
Took it back to the store the next day. I was replacing a previous CDN Tire pump that only lasted 2 years - CDN Tire did not have repair parts. Needless to say, I will not buy another one here. Twice bitten, once shy....

poor impeller

Only used at cottage and only lasted 2 seasons for two people then impeller broke. Can't find receipt. I glued impeller and it is working again but for how long?

JAI ACHETÉ CETTE POMPE A EAU,QUAND JE LAIS SORTIE DE LA BOITE ,JAI VÉRIFIÉ SI TOUS LES JOINTS ÉTAIS BIEN SERRÉ ,MAIS NON ,ET MAL ASSEMBLÉ A USINE,DEPUIS QUE JE LAIS POSÉ JAI DES PROBLÊME D'AIR DANS L'EAU,JE LAIS ACHETÉ AU MOIS DE MARS 2014 ET LÀ 14 AOUT 2014 JAI ENCORE DES PROBLÊME AVEC LA POMPE IL Y A DE AIR ENCORE QUI SE FAIT ET LE ROULEMENT A BILLE DU MOTEUR IL FAIT UN BRUIT AFFER ,JE NE CONSEILLE PAS A MON PIRE AMI,SAIS VRAIMENT PAS BON POUR LE PRIX QUIL VENDRE ÇÀ,SA VAUT MEME PAS $5.00 CETTE POMPE, FAIT ENVIRON 30 ANNÉE QUE JAI DES POMPE A L EAU,SAIS LA PIRE QUE ACHETÉ CETTE POMPE.

R : This unit is a convertible jet pump. From what you described, it looks like you were using deep well application which means the ejector is installed in the well. For deep well application, you do need to use pressure regulator to adjust the injection pressure. The maximum injection pressure or you called inlet pressure could be up to 70 to 80psi depending on your water well depth. Please follow the manual.“Turn the regulator adjustment screw down tight. If the pump is properly primed, a high pressure will immediately show on the pressure gauge. With the pump operating at high pressure, slowly unscrew the adjusting screw until maximum water flow is obtained. If pressure falls completely, retighten the screw and readjust.

Q : Can this be used as a well pump? how much power does it use in watts? My understanding with this pump is that it pumps up to a pressure and then shuts off. Mainly wondering what this pressure is and if it could potentially run continually?

R : 62-3588 can be used for well applications just as long as it does not exceed a depth of 70’. At that point you would need to use a deep well pump (62-3532/3540/3573). 62-3588 has a pressure switch that automatically turns the pump off at 30/50 PSI. It could run continually if the pressure switch was disabled but this is not recommended. With the absence of a pressure switch, you would have to release the pressure on a regular basis to ensure the pressure does not exceed 50 PSI or manually shut the pump off by unplugging it. Exceeding the correct operating pressure could damage the pump and/or your plumbing. Removing the pressure switch will also void the warranty.
