Nice stand and fireplace combo.

Bought a month ago and found one door had shattered glass when we opened the box to assemble the product. We called Canadian Tire and were totally amazed when they said just bring the broken door in for replacement. We did that and the returns staff just went to a new product, pulled out the proper door and gave it to us. Excellent service. So…,, disappointed that we had a broken door, but very happy with the resolution.
After assembly the stand and fireplace work great. Hopefully it lasts.

Glad I got it at a decent sale price. The fan is noisier than I expected on high or low. There was a defect on one of the edges (thankful it’s on the rear of the unit so it’s not easily visible). Overall I am pleased with the unit for the price. Love the faux flames and the remote. I added 6 wireless, rechargeable LED inside the shelves and it’s a great add on to see the DVDs titles when looking for something to watch. I would recommend the media fireplace stand.

We love this fireplace TV stand. There is plenty of space in the cabinet above the fireplace for our TV components and in the side door cabinets for DVDs or smaller components. The fireplace is lovely for ambience with or without the heat. There is an adjustable flame intensity and high/low/no heat options as well. The remote works well and is convenient. The cabinet is well made and sturdy.

I found the instructions to be detailed that we didn't have any issues putting it together. The fireplace gives off quite a bit of heat and has helped keep the chill out of the living room. The fan is a little louder than I had expected, but not any louder than the space heater we were using. Looks great, works great!

Q : Sticker goo on top of mantle won't come off The big sticker on the front right of the mantle did not come off cleanly. I have tried everything to get the goo off. It is now a gooey mess in the corner. Any suggestions to get goo of without ruining finish (although it looks ruined ready).

R : The same thing happened to me. Of all the places to put a extremely gummy sticker -- they choose the front right corner ?! First thing you see when you walk into my living room :( Very upsetting. I didn't want to use any chemicals, as was afraid of ruining finish as well, so used vegetable oil -- yet still looks ruined.

R : Yes, it does come with a remote. I bought one yesterday (December 2014) and it came with a remote. Before you second guess which fireplace I have, it is absolutely the Kingwood. I saw the description on the web site that said no remote, and the Kingwood on display at the local Cdn Tire store had the manual buttons described by others. I was not expecting a remote. However, I did notice when I got home that there is clearly a picture of a remote on front of the box. I assembled the unit and sure enough, there is a remote. The power and heat buttons on the unit are different from on the unit in the store, so it looks like the manufacturer has upgraded the Kingwood to a remote model but the Cdn Tire site is not updated. There may be both models in store. If you are buying one, be sure to get the one with the remote.

R : I did not find any dislikes. The assembly was fairly straightforward, the quality was good, the firebox had a realistic flame, the heater worked very well and Kingwood customer service was excellent. Yes, I had purchased this model on sale (50% off from $600), so it may go on sale again in the future.

R : The unit needs to be assembled, and comes in several pieces. The instructions are quite good. The firebox comes in one piece, ready to plug in and use. All components come in 1 large box (quite heavy and awkward-a 2 person lift).

R : Here are the missing steps: Step 13- slide panels 10 and 11 into place (3 panels in total) Step 14- Require 8 x D - Screw D's into panel 12 Step 17- Require 12 x G - Screw 3 screws into each hinge to attach doors 13 and 14.
