R : According to Castrol’s Lubrication Recommendations Guide recommended for a 2018 Nissan Versa, Nissan CVT Fluid NS-2 is the recommended fluid. Castrol Transmax ATF/CVT Universal is suitable for use where Nissan CVT Fluid NS-2 is called for. Castrol does not recommend mixing different ATF products. Since we do not have access to the proprietary formulations of competitor fluids, we cannot guarantee their compatibility with Castrol products. For this reason, we strongly recommend performing a complete transmission drain and refill using the Castrol Transmax ATF/CVT Universal. This process should include draining the torque converter, which typically holds approximately half of the transmission fluid volume. Please note that dropping the transmission pan alone will not drain the torque converter. Instructions for draining the torque converter may be available online, or you may prefer to have this service performed by a qualified service facility to ensure thorough fluid replacement.
