Light was discontinued perfect light could power by cord but not anymore

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm not sure how I survived without this work like. I had a bright non removable battery powered LED work light that had poor battery life, and a corded light that was very bright, but it was a pain to drag out an extension cord if it was for a quick project. This light has great life with a 4 or 5ah battery, and very very good battery life with my 9ah 60V batteries, and if I'm working on an all day project, I can just plug the light in and not have to worry about burning through batteries. I love the Cordless / Corded idea, and would buy more tools that had this option (already have a radio).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this DCL061 work light for two or so years now. The reviews I read before buying were not what I was hoping to hear; a lot of empty space, too big, would not stand up & hard to hang on framing and such. I looked at a few other brands. A brand that is known for quality had a light that fits in their tool boxes and is very bright and compact. This brand was three times the price and had one major deal killing flaw, it wasn't yellow. I've spent many years as a carpenter working tracts & custom homes and many times the Caterpillars would come around a corner and I would see the yellow out of the corner of my eye and instantly try to make eye contact with the operator. I am convinced that painting these massive machines yellow has saved many lives. Sound can come from many directions but you will instinctively see the yellow. Yellow in nature is a special color. Deadly animals will steer clear because many yellow species are poisonous. Bugs will try and pollinate you if you wear a yellow jacket and there is a reason I know this, cars see yellow jackets on bicyclist. Wear yellow and live longer. Red looks black in low light. Blue same. Yellow is very easy to see on a jobsite littered with cutoffs and debris at end of day. I always remember how hard it was to find the blue cordless drills when cordless first came out in the 80's. I would spray paint them very bright orange and it would always look bad and rub off on everything. When used as a safety light: If you need a safety light; say, you've got a loved one on life support, battery backup then generator kicks in when power shuts off, does the generator still have gas, there is no light. This unit placed conspicuously next to kitchen/garage entry and kept there at all times will be easy to find. When used for an emergency/safety light a battery must always be kept charged and mounted. This is how it stands. Battery is part of standing on edge. Very bright, keeps people from panicking in dark with just flashlights they can't find or candles they have to hunt down and light. It is very easy to grab and go when it is standing. Generator starts, plug it in. EMT's could work with the light this thing puts out. When used as a work light: When you're tired at end of day, the battery in the light went dead so you work off your small headlamp because your almost done. You pack up, drive away then realize you left the little blue light in the attic space. You won't leave this up in the attic. It won't get buried with insulation that easily. Did I mention "it's yellow". Get the one with battery and cord. It is very powerfull with only one setting, very bright. It is of a size that will not get lost easy & is not too heavy or cumbersome. Can be laid flat for crawl spaces. It will light up the whole area. When warranty is up you are free to mod/hack the "empty space" (lots of ideas here). This light has value far beyond its price. No regrets buying this model. Very happy.

I would not pay full price this but when I saw it on clearance I picked it up. The Positive: Hefty. It has some weight. Bright. Dual power source. Rotating head, Lights up a small room allowing you to work. LEDs stay Cool even after 2hrs. Negative: Bulky and cumbersome. Use it on the feet, not standing or it'll tip. Takes up valuable space in my roll out. For a premium lamp of this size they should have added charger, a hook and a USB port 7/10

this throws a blindingly bright light, but it will suck a battery dry in no time
