R : Yes you do. By the way, I discovered that Walmart Canada carries refrigerate R134a which is what all new car AC systems need., R12A is compatible but R134 is what is required. I bought some in the USA because I was told it was not sold to individuals in Canada but this is not correct.

R : from DIYer - I added 12a first then system ran perfectly but after several days no oil showed on the analyzer so that was when I added the 4 cans of oil charge. after that still no oil showing on analyzer.

Q : Will adding the oil increase the pressure in the system? I recharged the system to the correct pressure, but afterwards, the oil analyzer is registering very low. If I add the oil, will it overcharge the system?

R : Added the oil as there was some detected as a small leak. Pressure was maintained and readings consistent.

R : I am not sure how the customer checked the A/C system for “low oil pressure”. It is usually refrigerant pressure that we measure when we connect our installation hose and gauge. If the pressure in the A/C system is low, it usually means your refrigerant level is low and will need to be topped up. You can check the A/C oil level and acid contamination with the A/C Oil Analyzer CTC # 0146126.

Q : Info says RedTek Oil Charge Aerosol is compatible with R134a refrigerant, but can it be used in electric hybrid vehicle A/C system compressors? i.e. Is it compatible with Toyota's ND-11 (POE) AC oil?

Q : How do I know if I need this product? At what step should I add this product for an empty A/C? I'll start by adding some Red Tek (RT) refrigerant (until the compressor starts), then RT Dry, then RT Leak Stop, then RT ProSeal, then RT Oil Charge (if I need it - how do I know?). Does this sound correct?

Hopefully that solves it - you'll have made some money; I'll see whether I have to bring it to a professional or not. Is the sequence above correct? Are all those cans compatible? R : There is about 2oz in the additive cans. But the customer must use a can of r12a before using the additives to get the compressor going.

Q : Can I use this oil for my new compressor instead of pag oil? It seems like online i see videos where you buy oil that you pour in to the fill hole in the back of the compressors?

R : The 404 OilCharge can only be used if the compressor is running and is designed to inject through the low side port. The compressor must be filled prior to running or they risk damaging the compressor. RED TEK does have an Oil that can be added to the compressor but it is a non-stocking item at CTC. Our # 410 8oz liquid Universal Refrigerant Oil, 12per case.
