Complete coverage of plant is necessary for best results, spray uniformly and thoroughly to wet unwanted foliage. Only contacted weeds will be controlled. Rain or watering within 24 hour after application will reduce control. Mature weeds, dormant weeds, or weeds hardened due to moisture stress tend to be more tolerant to weed control. Retreatment of large weeds and regrowth of perennial weeds will be required.

Too Expensive for its Limited Effectiveness

Scott's Week Begon has some effect on weeds, but is too expensive for the weed control it provides. The previous Scott's Weed Out is much more effective and only costs $19.99

We do hope you'll try using one of our weed controls again, and we would like to offer some tips that may help you in your future weed control efforts.
To get the best results from any weed control, be sure to apply the product when your daytime temperatures are consistently between 65 to 85°F (19 - 30°C). If daytime highs are below 60°F (16°C) control will be delayed. Susceptible weeds show effect within 1 to 2 days if the product is applied in sunny, warm weather to actively growing weeds less than 10 cm tall.
Complete coverage of the weeds is necessary for best results. Only the weeds sprayed will be controlled. Rain or watering within 3 hour after application will reduce control. Mature weeds, dormant weeds, or weeds hardened due to moisture stress tend to be more tolerant to weed controls.
Scotts Weed B Gon Max Weed Control Concentrate for Lawns will burndown these annual weeds: Moss, black medic, slender speedwell, wild geranium and on weed seedlings of false dandelion, English daisy, dandelion or white clover. This product will control the top growth of these perennial weeds: Broad-leaved plantain (suppression only), creeping buttercup and Canada thistle. Retreatment of large weeds and regrowth of perennial weeds will be required.

R : Not sure I can answer that. I’d say at least a day. What I can tell you, is that it works amazing!! The lawn looks a little scary for a few days, then all the weeds are gone.

R : I would personally NOT use a weed killer until the lawn has been established. Killex and Weed-Be-Gone take a couple of months to kill weeds, so the lawn should be quite safe. However, if you have patches of weeds I would apply weed control to a patch as a test only to see any results. Watch the directions as to watering after applying, as a new lawn might be getting more water than a weed control should have.
