Great alternative to side battery terminal bolts that serve easily. This is a far better solution for a lot of gm vehicles

The biggest problem is the positive cable would not fit on a top post positive terminal as it was too small. The top post terminal had to be enlarged, then the supplied bolt wasn't long enough and had to be replaced with a bolt 1/2 inch longer. Other than that the only other thing we did was wrapped the connection at the side post terminals in electrical tape to seal them from moisture better. After the necessary modifications (& time to modify) the adapters worked just fine.

The posts on the top of most car batteries are not the same diameter. The positive post is about one tenth of an inch larger than the negative post. Therefore the red and black clamps of this product should have a different diameter. As pointed out by another reviewer, the clamps are identical. Therefore the red clamp going on the positive post has to be expanded with a wedge (screwdriver) in order to fit over the post. Once expanded, this clamp may need a longer bolt, else the nut cannot be completely screwed on the bolt. Fortunately I had a longer bolt in my workshop and I used it. I also found that the black clamp on the negative post also had to be expanded to fit comfortably. Once expanded, this black clamp also needed a longer bolt than the one that was provided. I was able to use the original longer and now surplus bolt from the red clamp with the black clamp as a good solution. To improve conductivity, I used a wire brush to polish the ends of heavy duty cables from the car which mate with this product. If you are using an old battery, it also helps to polish the battery posts with a wire brush or sand paper. I also wrapped the junctions of the car's heavy duty cables and these extension cables with electrical tape. Installing this product on my car to replace an old but cracked clamp resulted in my clock display showing much brighter than before.
