Great Machine, Horrible Engineering

All of the Midea Duo AC units suffer from the same defect. The company uses a very very cheap plastic with no flexibility for the end of the hose that attaches to the window. The clips that hold the hose securely in place will snap upon pressing them down to use them. Its not from pressing to hard, or abuse to the clip, it is simply an incredibly cheap sub par plastic that should have never been used on this machine. They provide you nice foams, and different pieces to ensure that you can get a nice snug fit and have great air tight seal and then provide you with a 20 cent piece of plastic that is guaranteed to snap, jeopardizing the entire machine. Oh yeah and they don't sell just the clip end which should cost about 3 bucks, but instead try to make you purchase the entire hose assembly for I'm sure at least 100 dollars or more, so you can just get another piece of sub par plastic that is guaranteed to break again. I literally used the clip for its intended purpose and it went white on the flex point and then busted right off, like it was never meant to be squeezed. Horrendous is the only word i can use to describe this engineering failure.

Not Worth the Price – Weak Cooling & Major Issues

I had high hopes for this unit given the price tag (almost $800), but it was an absolute disappointment from start to finish. The cooling power was weak – it barely made a dent in the room temperature, even when running for hours. For something that markets itself as “Real Cool,” I expected way better performance.
On top of that, it constantly blew my breaker, which is not only frustrating but also dangerous. No appliance at this price point should be that poorly designed or that demanding on electricity. The remote control was another headache – it’s not intuitive, the buttons are awkward, and it feels like you’re fighting with it just to get the settings you want.
Between the weak performance, electrical problems, and frustrating controls, I can confidently say this is one of the worst purchases I’ve made. For nearly $800, this unit should be powerful, reliable, and user-friendly – it was none of those things. Save yourself the money and the stress.

Great unit, works well to cool my apartment, one thing that Midea could improve on is providing enough adaptors to fit a sliding patio door as it’s difficult to find additional sections, I had to purchase an aftermarket window kit to install it where I wanted the unit, not a deal breaker but it would be nice if that was included in a 800$+ unit

R : I'm answering my own question....... by removing the window screen and using a piece of 1/4" plywood cut the same size as the screen, then using the included duo-hose window attachment as a template, I cut a hole of that size in the plywood, screwed the hose attachment to the outside of the plywood and then clicked the hose though the hole onto the plastic piece, then inserted that into the window as if it were the screen. Works like a top!
