    General Grabber HTS 60

This is my second set. I first purchased these in 2023 and had 83,000 km on them. I could have probably gotten another few thousand km before they hit the wear bars but with winter coming and them on clearance pricing I got them now. Unfortunately they stopped making them and General Tire no longer has a direct replacement in my size. I found them smooth and relatively quiet and never had any issue with them being out of balance or defective. They had good grip in all road conditions including winter (though not as good in winter as a dedicated tire). Since I rarely drive in snow or ice this was not an issue.

    Great value

Replacement on 2018 Sierra Denali 1500. Used as a 3 season tire, very quiet and fuel efficient from low rolling resistance. About 40000km with 6/32 tread remaining. Pulling a 7000lb travel trailer about 20% of that mileage. Maintaining tire pressure has even wear across, zero flats and a great price. Would buy again

Q: Is this a good choice for 4 Runner to ride on Winter in Alberta?

    • A: I drive a tacoma and live in ontario, personally i dont find they perform well in the winter, attempted to reverse up my barely sloped driveway during a storm and had to engage 4x4 to actually get up. I just purchased some falken wildpeak at4ws and they outperform the hts60 by a landslide.

Q: Does the general grabber tire hts60 have the m&s on the sidewall?

    • A: Yes, to M+S rating, but they actually do very well in winter. They are well-balanced and quiet on paved roads. My F150 came with all-terrain tires which are noisy on the highway, so I ordered some HTS60s for it, since truly even in my FX4 I do not go off-road much, just some gravel roads and such like. This is my second set for a second vehicle. If you have a pickup, be honest with yourself about where you drive and go for comfort if that is really what you want. HTS60s will provide that comfort.

Q: Is this good when having a trailer hauling?

    • A: A timely question, as I have put off voicing my opinion on these tires. I had my eye on Michelins, but was convinced otherwise by a Canadian Tire employee. I’m not blaming him, the tires were on sale and allegedly a good brand. Sorry, I can’t speak to their character when hauling a trailer, but on a rain soaked highway, they perform very poorly. It wasn’t just me who experienced hydroplaning, other members of my family reported the same. All tires can hydroplane, I’ve been driving for over fifty years, but these tires on my Honda Ridgeline are ridiculously dangerous in the rain.

Q: Just wondering how these tires do in the winter time and dealing with ice and snow on highways when doing 100km. I have some traveling to do so just want to know before purchasing them.

    • A: I had general Tire HTS60s on my Chevy pickup year round for three years - would have been more but MTO took my truck off the road as it was a "rat rod" with too much rat. The tires behaved better than one would expect in snow and on a pickup with not much weight on the rear (2-wheel drive). They have excellent wet and dry ratings and are quiet.

Q: I am trying to look up 13" tires that I can use on my utility trailer, but your site keeps defaulting to the 18" size tires for my Honda Ridgeline. How can I over-ride to look for other sized tires?

    • A: Try adding "Utility Trailer" to your Vehicle list. Then put in the detail particulars. When you search for tires and you are asked to change vehicles, then change accordingly.

A: Bonne journée. Merci
