Product Details

The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A® KO3 Tire For Light Truck & SUV is a superior all-terrain tire designed with a unique tread compound that resists damage and prolongs tire life. This durable tire features locking sipes and deep, water-channeling treads for improved grip and control on sand, gravel and rock. Drive more confidently and safely on wet, dry, or rough roads with the superior traction of this all-terrain tire.

Snow Peak Rated

The 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol indicates the tire is rated for Severe Snow Service. This is the acceptable standard for winter driving in Canada and provides improved safety on snow and ice.

Mud And Snow Rated

The M+S symbol differentiates an All-Season tire from a Summer only tire. While rated for light snow, they will not match a winter tire for traction or stopping distance on snow and ice.

  • Engineered for the on- and off-road needs of light truck vehicles

  • BFGoodrich KO3 tires feature a reformulated cut-, chip- and tear-resistant tread compound for delivering outstanding durability, improved wear-life and traction in all weather conditions, even light snow. The tires meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

  • Tires meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol

  • The symmetric tread design with a generous amount of void for off-road use optimizes the footprint for more even stress distribution and uniform wear

  • 3D Locking Sipes are full depth and alongside the Snow/Mud notches, designed to help drivers find the traction they need in any environment

  • The upper shoulder and sidewall feature CoreGard™ Technology, a bruise- and split-resistant rubber compound that extends further down the sidewall and provides added protection to the tire in demanding scenarios

  • Alternating Shoulder Scoops deliver clawing force for control and traction in sand, dirt, or grueling off-road rock driving

Bad vibration over 65mph

Tires look great, and ride well under 65 mph, anything over that and they have a bad vibration. One of the tires took over 30 ounces which is absurd they’ve been balanced three times now and I’m still having the same issues.

No, I do not recommend this product.

We are so sorry to hear you are experiencing vibration issues. BFGoodrich designs its off-road tires with tighter beads to prevent unseating. This is critical especially when tires are aired down for off-roading. Because of this feature, problems might arise if the tires aren’t seated properly. The tires may look installed correctly but sometimes they won’t be seated uniform against the wheel edge. Please consult with your dealer to ensure that the proper lubricant is applied to both the rim flange and the tire bead during the mounting process. If you would like to discuss more, feel free to give us a call at 866-866-6605 (Mon–Fri 8 AM–7 PM EST, Sat 9 AM–1 PM EST).

With approximately 20,000 miles of use, these tires have developed pronounced cupping, severe uneven tread wear, and chronic balance issues that materially affect ride quality, noise levels, and highway safety. This deterioration is far outside what any reasonable consumer should expect from a premium all-terrain tire marketed for durability and long service life. The tires have been maintained to a standard that eliminates typical user-error explanations. Tire pressure has been consistently maintained within BFGoodrich specifications. The tires have been professionally balanced and rotated at 5,000-mile intervals. A professional alignment has been performed and verified to Thuren Suspension specifications, which fall well within acceptable parameters for both on-road use and tire longevity. Suspension and steering components are in proper working order with no abnormal wear or mechanical deficiencies that would explain this pattern. Despite this, the tires are now extremely difficult—if not impossible—to balance properly. Road noise has increased substantially, and visible cupping is present across multiple tires, indicating a systemic issue rather than an isolated defect. The uniformity and progression of the wear strongly suggest a defect in construction, internal belt integrity, or compound consistency. Of particular concern is that this experience is not unique. A review of publicly available consumer feedback reveals a significant number of similar complaints describing premature cupping, uneven wear, and balance instability with the KO3 model. This establishes a documented pattern of failure. To date, BFGoodrich has not issued a recall, technical service bulletin, or public acknowledgment addressing these recurring defects, despite what appears to be ongoing constructive notice. For a tire positioned and priced as a flagship all-terrain product, this level of performance at only 20,000 miles is indefensible. The condition of these tires represents a premature loss of value and raises legitimate questions regarding quality control, product testing, and corporate response to known issues in the field. I purchased these tires in reliance on BFGoodrich’s reputation for engineering, durability, and accountability. Based on this experience, that reliance was misplaced. Absent a meaningful response or corrective action, I cannot recommend the KO3 and would caution prospective buyers to carefully consider the growing body of evidence indicating premature wear and balance defects. BFGoodrich should treat this matter seriously. The consistency of these failures across multiple consumers suggests an issue that warrants formal investigation and corrective action, not continued silence.

No, I do not recommend this product.

6TH set of All Terrain T/A's

I recently put BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3s on my truck, and they’ve been excellent — especially in winter conditions. Snow & Slush Performance: The KO3 tread pattern and biting edges really help in snow. They dig in well and maintain traction even in deeper, unpacked snow. I’ve had confident starts and stops without feeling like I’m slipping around. Ice & Cold Grip: While no all-terrain tire will match a dedicated studded winter tire on ice, the KO3s perform surprisingly well for an A/T. The rubber compound stays pliable in cold temperatures, and I’ve found grip on slick, icy patches better than I expected. Wet & Slushy Roads: The wide, deep grooves evacuate slush and water effectively. Hydroplaning hasn’t been an issue even in heavy wet conditions — which gives peace of mind on winter highways and back roads. On-Road Comfort in Winter: There’s a bit of road noise compared to a highway tire, but they’re stable and predictable in cold weather driving. Ride quality has been solid on both dry and snowy pavement. Off-Road Winter Trails: On snowy dirt roads and forest trails, the KO3s have been great. They bite into uneven, snowy terrain and hold their line well. I’ve felt confident on hills and loose surfaces. Wear & Durability: After winter miles, I’m seeing even wear and no unusual signs of degradation. BFGoodrich says the KO3 compound is built for longevity, and that seems to be true in cold weather as well. Pros for Winter:

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not quite as good as the K02

I’ve had these tires on my Wrangler 4xe for about a month now, they replaced the Destination M/T2s that came on the vehicle. I acknowledge that it isn’t really a like for like replacement. I had K02s on my last Wrangler and they were fantastic. The first difference is the quiet ride, big improvement over the M/T2s for road use. Additionally, they spin less on wet pavement or pavement with some sand. Lastly, I’d say a slight improvement in fuel economy. Now the downside. Much more likely to break loose on ice or slushy snow, and relatively poor stopping performance on the same surfaces compared to the M/T2s and the K02s. I haven’t felt like I would get stuck in the snow, and they throw snow all over the place, they just don’t give the confidence in the winter that the K02s did. Hopefully they last a good long time to make up for the winter shortcomings.

Impossible to balance, extremely disappointing

Bought a full set of 5 for my truck, was very excited after seeing reviews compared to other brands in the same class. Had them delivered mounted and balanced on a new set of wheels and tires from Tire Rack. Put them on the truck, made it about 2min down the road before I felt vibrations. After hours of back and forth with TR and hundreds spent on balancing and road force, they still couldn't be balanced. Infuriating and disappointing. I returned them and swapped to a different brand in the same class and they run absolutely fine, as do the factory set.

No, I do not recommend this product.
