I have the Rat Zapper Ultra by Victor. It lasted 1 year 3 months and killed 11 mice/rats. Replaced batteries twice during that time frame. Then it quit and they wouldn't replace it because it is past the1 year mark. $11 a mouse is not worth it!

Waste of money

Have one of these for 3yrs now....They can only kill 1 mouse or rat...or even a spider and you get no green light no more. Checked the batteries and they all 1.5v+ but it wants a new set every time.....Waste of money.

A couple chocolate covered peanuts and placement along travelway of small to midsize rodents (squirrels). Worked great clearing our attick, garage, then shed. But, I dropped it due last use and need a new one.
Unfortunately, Cdn Tire no longer stocks them in Edmonton.
Will look elsewhere?

Amazing mouse killer!

I bought this 2 years ago from Canadian Tire (Cambie) when our building had a mouse infestation thanks to a hoarder living in the building. Nothing else was working and I finally decided to make a proper purchase and invest in something that would after reading all the reviews on here and other websites for this model. And guess what? It worked! After 5 nights of filling it with freshly cooked bacon, the mice were no more. I was finally able to sleep a full night without hearing mice in the apartment.

It worked!

Bought it a few days ago because a rat was gnawing on fruit in the kitchen. I left the Zapper unbaited for a couple of days so the rat(s) could familiarize themselves with it. Baited it last night and the red light was on in the morning! Hope to catch and kill more. It is easy to use and relatively humane.

R : Unfortunately, there is not a way for the trap to determine if the critter that entered is a squirrel or a rat. However, we do not recommend that the electronic traps be used outside. Any water damage from rain can cause the unit to short and not work.

R : This trap is not designed for a skunk. It may also be illegal to kill a skunk in your area, so please refer to your local by-laws. It is suggested you use a live trap to humanely trap, and relocate, the skunk, or a deterrent product to encourage the animal to leave the area. Canadian Tire sells Live traps in two sizes that should help: Medium Trap (059-1998) and Large Trap (059-1999), depending on the size of the animal. You may also see success in using deterrent products, such as Critter Ridder (059-3972 – Liquid, 059-3513 – Granular), or Animal B Gon (059-1116 Aerosol, 059-1115 1L Liquid, and 059-1117 5L Liquid).

Q : do I have to touch the rodent with my hands? or are you able to lift the trap and dump the rodent out? have used the quick release snap traps, but they seem to be avoiding them now Just wondering how this unit works besides zapping the rodent.

R : The Rat Zapper does not have a power cord. If the rat is taking the bait without a catch, we would suggest that the customer clean the bait from the unit and ensure they are baiting properly by following the instructions in the booklet that comes with the unit.
